Ever wanted more than just Dandelions and Roses? Think the proportion of Dandelions to Roses is way out of whack? Are you struggling to make Cyan Dye? Then this mod is for you!
(End Sales Pitch)
Flowercraft is a simple mod that adds six new flowers to the game: the Iris, the Peony, the Bluebell, the Tiger Lily, the Orchid, and the Tulip. These flowers, plus the existing roses and dandelions, all have approximately the same chance of spawning. The end result is more flowers per chunk on average, but not in excess.
Here's a patch of flowers at sunrise: (not natural, I placed these after collecting them!)
Here's a picture of all the flowers together, plus their corresponding dyes:

Modded en_US.lang file that changes yellow flowers' name from "Flower" to "Dandelion" so that it matches its dye:
(Included in non-ModLoader downloads)
Installation Instructions (same info as in README):
Included in the download are three .class files that you must add to your Minecraft.jar file, a modded terrain.png file that must be added to Minecraft.jar AFTER you have deleted the original, and a modded en_US.lang file that can optionally be used to replace the existing en_US.lang file in the "lang" folder in the Minecraft.jar. (This gives the mouseover text for the new flowers, plus changes the text for Dandelions from "Flower" to "Dandelion.")
To find Minecraft.jar, search for %Appdata% and go to .minecraft, then bin, and inside bin you'll find your Minecraft.jar. Open it and edit it using a program such as WinRAR.
This is my first mod, so forgive me if installation is harder than it should be. Please alert me to any bugs or issues!
ModLoader is definitely a priority, but with Beta 1.5 so close I had to wait. =[
Can't wait for 1.5! Although I have my 1.4 bin saved in case mods don't get updated fast. I'm not as patient as most people, but I'm not one of those people who troll the forums asking EVERY mod maker to update their mod.

"Friends are like snowflakes-if you pee on them, they disappear."
I really hope that the mod API update also includes a lot more image and block ids. The current range is too small.
Hope to see you in 1.5!
(Edit: Lapis Lazuli ore is still necessary for plain blue dye, just a Cactus Green is necessary for plain green dye. The blue flowers only give you cyan and light blue dye!)
Can you make a 32x32 version of the flower textures as an option for when you update this to 1.5? I love the look of this mod but the 16x16 textures make me a bit cautious. (I can just double their size and put it in the texture pack, but it wouldn't be as good as dedicated 32x32 textures)
If not, I suppose I could have a go at it.

Do not get attached to your saves, seriously, stuff like this has happened before, if there's something you love and really want to build...Wait for release.
I don't have enough experience with textures just yet to make a 32x32 version, unfortunately.
As for black and white flowers: I have considered it, but it doesn't quite fit for me. Black dye would be ink sacs, and I've tried to avoid duplicating dyes that can be gotten directly elsewhere. And white dye would be rather silly. So, as far as aesthetics go, I would certainly like to do black and white flowers, but practically I don't think I will.
Anyway...
FlowerCraft is updated for 1.5_01! Woohoo!
Unfortunately, MCP is still test-only and Modloader is not quite working properly with it, so FlowerCraft will not be Modloader compatible for a little while yet. Sorry!
I assume by 1.5 you mean Modloader for 1.5. And I don't know, actually, I'll go check. (I also assume you're talking about More Flowers. Be specific!)
Edit: Assuming you can even add this mod while Modloader is installed (unlikely), I imagine it wouldn't conflict. Once this is Modloader compatible, it shouldn't conflict either.
Will be waiting for modloader compat, but this is a fantastic mod, and I think I'll like this better than moreflowers, mostly because the blue ones won't give you lapis lazuli when you mill them for dye... lol. The color range is better, and the textures are more the style of the default MC texture as well.

Request: Could there be a ...black flower? I feel that is the only thing missing. And maybe a white one too?
Will download when it's updated to 1.5 :]
