This is my first Minecraft content mod. In this release of Cabinets you can craft decorative and functional cabinets for your Minecraft creations. Each cabinet holds 9 stacks of items that are visible through the glass doors (you can also hide them in the GUI.) To craft a cabinet, see images below. Replace the oak wood planks with any blocks in the Materials list below. Cabinets have the same placement rules as crafting tables and furnaces.Once crafted and placed, items can be placed in and removed from the cabinet by right-clicking, the same as a chest.

As requested by a friend, Slappage, this mod places torches when the light level reaches 6 or below.
This operation can be toggled with 'L' and the key can be changed in the controls menu.
I'm running into what I believe to be a bug. The only two mods that I've installed are the most recent Modloader and your Cabinets mod, and yet, I can't seem to craft any of the cabinets at all.

Are you mixing plank types, are you using glass panes?
This is really cool and useful. I will defenantly have to use this in my replica model of my house! An idea would also to maybe find a way to ad a sink that crafts something like this:

(the water block would be a bucket of water)
Great idea, will look into it.
Thanks,

Keep up the excellent work! I hope you DO branch into making kitchen counters, as I find I have difficulty in decorating my kitchens to actually LOOK like kitchens. I wouldn't mind some kind of kitchen-counter looking block that actually works like a workbench, for that matter.
I wonder how this will look alongside my Last Days textures... if it uses default textures, maybe it'll fit right in?
Heh, I'll find out soon!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm amazed myself, I started this 4 days ago, knowing nothing of java.
And I re-read some of the other comments, too! I definitely dig the idea of having a sink which could act as a constant source of water in our homes! Add that in with counters, and you've got yourself quite a lovely little kitchen here! If only that mod which had refridgerators would work for me.
Anyhow, awesome work! Just wanted to come back and let you know I'm playing with this, and never going back!
