Hello all, as some of you may know I have been working on my Downlights mod for a little while, completely revamping it, and it is now completely different and better. Now, it could even be called Hanging Lights. I haven't found another mod that adds hanging lights, so this is the one you want if you desire lights hanging from the roof :smile.gif:
This thread will also be for any small mods I make and release, but for now it is just for the Downlights mod.
Getting on with it, I present to you, Downlights!
(My failed attempt at a chandelier :tongue.gif:)
Downlights can be placed anywhere, although in a future update I plan on making them place-able only when there is a block above them. Hopefully, they will make lighting a lot more aesthetically pleasing :smile.gif: They can be crafted like so:
This is a really good idea I have been looking for. Now if only someone can make half-steps stick to ceilings...
I'm pretty sure the MoreSlabsmod adds 'top slabs' which do stick to the ceiling :smile.gif: I'm pretty sure anyway :smile.gif: glad you like the mod people :smile.gif:
I love your mods they are so simple but great and I have been messing around with this a bit and it is really good and I am going to do a mod review and if its okay with you any other mods you make I could make mod reviews to. Apart from that you deserve
Sure, I'm not going to tell you that you cant make a mod review of my mods :tongue.gif: go ahead, I am thankful that you are so willing to make one for me :smile.gif: thankyou.
MAY be a stupid question, but I know LITTLE to nothing about modding/coding. I do know however is that usually a mod that adds something to the world other players need as well or they will not see it, soo, my question is. Is this SMP compatible? If not can you make it for your number one supporter =D I'm only asking off the assumption that it would take like 3 seconds to do considering it's only one item.

Updated just for you MrChessPiece. SMP works, but there is a slight bug when you walk into the downlight where... actually, ill just let you find that out for yourself :tongue.gif:
I have been looking into making an updated version of this for 1.2.5, but with more features, etc. Unfortunately, it may be a while, as I'm having some issues.
I know it's been a long time since anyone's posted here, but anyways:
Do you think you could incorporate a feature where when a "Downlight" is placed beneath another Downlight, the chain is lengthened like so?
Downlight= 0
Chain= !
Placeholder= -
When one Downlight is placed, like this:
-------------------------------------------------------!
------------------------------------------------------ 0
When two are placed (vertically connected), like this:
------------------------------------------------------------------------!
------------------------------------------------------------------------!
------------------------------------------------------------------------0

Download:
Download the Client Version:
Download the Downlights Client mod (v1.0.1) for Minecraft 1.1
Download the Server Version:
Download the Downlights Server mod (v1.0.1) for Minecraft 1.1
How to Install:
How to Change the Block ID:
Downlights uses only one Block ID, 200 by default. However you can change this by doing the following:
- Run Minecraft at least once with DownLights installed.
- Navigate to your .minecraft folder and open the config folder. ("%appdata%\.minecraft\config").
- Open the mod_DownLights.cfg file with any text editor (I recommend Notepad++).
- Ignore any lines with a '#' in front of them, they just tell you what the default ID is, etc.
- Scroll down to the lines that don't have the '#' at the beginning, find downLightID and change the number to whatever you want it to be.
Alternate Textures:
Please see this thread for alternate textures to all my mods :smile.gif:
Please enjoy my Downlights mod, and remember to check out my other mod, SimpleOres, if you haven't done so already :smile.gif:
Thanks guys :smile.gif:
That would be... awesome.
