Only thing I've been doing recently is trying to build a castle, a very boring large one at that, my motivation? Nothing. I was bored out of my mind and ended up playing wit enderpearls teleporting myself from one tower to another.
i started a new world, and noticed some cobble near the surface peeking through the sand, so i dug down about 5 blocks and found a spider spawner, so i torched it up to switch it off until i decide what to do with it, then started making a 3 x 3 mineshaft with stairs in the middle down to level 12 to start mining, when i hit level 12 i opened onto a cave system with a zombie spawner in the corner, so i torched that up for later, that will make a nice villager supply and xp grinder. then i started clearing out my main base room in the cave system and making a 2 block spaced strip mine. all in all, a good start to a world i think.
Spider farms are great for XP, because the hitbox of spiders is such that you can create mutually exclusive passageways.
I don't play survival mode much so I suck at it but recently I've made some farms I'm pretty proud of. I've also started to figure out how redstone works.

Ah redstoning. Difficult to master, but always rewarding in the end. I literally am terrible at redstoning. I have some knowledge but I am not an expert.
World creation: V. late Beta just before pre-release. Resource pack: Conquest Shaders: Continuum 1.2.2 PBR
Only been doing small things latetly. I reasoned That this themed resource pack might do something interesting with paintings so I set aside time to hunt and shear some sheep. I found on my way also that across the water past the hilly bit of land there's a very open desert and right on the end of it there's a low chunck wall with 1, just 1; villager home.
Anyway at last, by using paintings I can show how the inside is coming along.
The good think about this medievil styled house is I don't have to worry about "Traditional rooms", even the stairs up were annexed in favor of slabs for a more realistic approach. It was by accident I found aout about the arch on the top of the doors (see long shot of kitchen), I had two-high spaces for the doors as per usual and they looked fine, but something made me want to remove a block above them. When I did an arch point above the door appeared! I changed each door that way after. I have aslo done minor things lile extending the carrot farm below into the side of the mountain just so I can make the descent down two wide and make it safe. Also a spruce fencing around the waterfall drop in front of the house has changed to Dark Oak to match the new border fence walls.
Vines are coming along nicely on the bridge:
I spent a lot of time protecting those villagers, building them a platform outside the front door so they don't fall off the chunk wall, and putting a border around the edge of the chunk wall for the same reason. In the end I changed the platform to a narrow extension of thge house but they wouldn't use the new doors so I lost a couple of them. Maybe I shoud build more village homes there?
Each time I go on I have done much but smelt some of my hoards of gold and make most of the minecart tracks faster with boosters, I certainly notice the difference in speed. I also went across my minecart ride from Mount DOOOooom to my Multiplayer house shrine. This is a replica of one of the earliest houses I built on a server, meant to be a replica not an "Improved version", so it may look bad build wise, but it was neaver meant o be anything other wise. Anyway I built it years ago and just did a rough cobble patch pattern for the floor and have been saying for years I'd make it like it was originally but have never got round to it until now. The only change I made was the floor replacing the paths of the pattern with red sandstone and the cobble patches (Originally sandstone) with slabs as the outer walls have now gone from cobble to sandstone as they should be.
Original server MP house and basement:
Until recently:
Basement re-newal:
I also went adventuring from this MP house shrine as I noticed there was a desert near by. I wasn't sure If I had been this way - from this point but I didn't find much. The main thing was a nearer source of Donkeys and horses, so that will be the next adventure, restoking my various mules.

A few days ago I finally reached Minecraft day 10000 in my current SP world, approx 3 years and 11 months since I started it. I decided to build myself a small inconspicuous monument to commemorate the achievement ....
well i had a lot of fun. I've been building an entire modern town to try to get most of the server to move there and it seems to be working. so I was running along, i saw the house, I stopped, and was like "I HAVE AN IDEAAAAAAAAaaaaa!!!" also, don't forget the front part.

What if the Wicked Witch of the West had huge feet?
I tried making tunnels on Layer 5 to find Diamonds recently. I made 1 tunnel so far and found nothing. And, i defeated enough Creepers to get 5 gunpowder! I used the TNT in the tunnel and.. Still no Diamonds. But i won't give up.

Currently, I am reforming a Desert Temple I found into a home. I lit up the place and looted the chests. I found 3 golden apples and an enchanted book with Efficiency II on it. I also found 4 iron ingots, 2 iron horse armor, and 1 gold horse armor. Not to mention the amount of rotten flesh and string I found as well. I set up a farm outside and I am growing Jungle trees because I got 3 jungle tree saplings from a bonus chest. I might cut a river around it to turn it into an island area. I don't have any images so sorry if you wanted that. :/
Spent the last few times on line searching for more strongholds. I'm up to 7 now.
It's an old world and oddly was explored out to about 4000 - 5000 in the East and 8000 - 9000 in the north before 1.9 so no ring 2 Strongholds in those directions but have found 2 of ring 3 in the East. In the South and West Exploration was very sparse and limited to about 1500-2000 blocks so I have been able to find 2 of the ones in ring 2 in those directions.
Just documenting them for the Server owner and users. Think I might try to find all of them though that looks like a VERY long project.

Branch mine at Y=11. There, all ores can be found fairly commonly. (And I'm pretty sure lava lakes too.)
I'm not especially familiar with ore spawning, though. You'll need TheMasterCaver to help you if you want to get very specific.
As for me, around a week ago I started a Drought journal. The rules make it near impossible because of how rare water is, so I'm going to go through and clean them up. Make it easier at some parts, harder at others, and finally organize them.
I'm also going to finally make my command block crafter in my Command Modpack, that way I'll be able to use commands so much more frequently.

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
I mentioned the void rail bridge I built in The End in another thread, and someone commented that it should have been enough to earn that achievement, but I couldn't recall getting it. I checked the coordinates at the beginning and end of my bridge, and I found it was exactly 940 blocks long (60 shy of what was needed).
Since the rail bridge ends in the side of one of the large outer islands...
I just tunnelled into the island far enough to drop another stack of rails, plus powered rails every 8 blocks, which put me about a dozen blocks over what I needed, and when I rode the minecart back to the central island I got the achievement.
I've never done long minecart runs in any of my previous worlds, so this is the first time I have earned that achievement.
I FINALLY got diamonds in my new world! It took 10 in-game days, unlike my first server, which took 3 days [and i got 8 in my first server, and 5 this one.], but it's still rewarding. Now to find lava..
Lately a friend on my server played a prank on me, or at least I thought it would be a prank. Turns out he was just being very generous and gave me tons of bonemeal and bone blocks for the automatic tree farm I am going to be building on the server (and although I already have that mob farm you see nearly completed, it's much appreciated! ). I plan to make a wood shop and sell 4 stacks of either oak, acacia, birch, spruce and jungle logs for a single diamond. I also plan to manually harvest dark oak logs (until I build a tree farm for them) and sell 2 stacks for a single diamond. Our server isn't too big on shops and more on a tight nit community so I think these prices are cheap and fair, and will still make me loads of profit.
It's been awhile since the last post here. I'm surprised...
My Drought challenge world's going fine, I just haven't gotten to the point where I feel I have enough to bump it. The main thing I did was finally build my command block crafter. It's a simple machine in my hallway, that clears four orange concrete, two iron blocks and a redstone block and gives you two command blocks. You then get started using the command blocks by standing on an emerald block to go into Creative. After you place all of them (standing on one will allow you to go into Creative) you can step onto soul sand to revert to survival. And if you need to break a command block, just drop an iron pickaxe on it.
I then went to a desert to get sand, and travelled 3,000 blocks past it. Whoops. When I did arrive, I accidentally killed my fastest horse. Whoops...

I used just short of 700 diamond blocks for the build. I went on a mining spree using Minutor to locate the diamonds i needed (as explained in this earlier post in this thread http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-discussion/survival-mode/297957-what-have-you-done-recently?comment=5669 ) but I had to acquire a few more as I was about a stack short.
Mintutor now works in 1.13!
MrKite & Mc_Etlam ... I salute you!
Placing down all of those signs, and typing each "imnotcrazy"... That's what I call dedication to a prank.
