Ive been living in a roofed forest next to a plains with a village. I set up my enchanting room in the village , and now im working on getting 30 xp, to enchant my diamond stuff. Lots of mobs are spawning in the forest becsuse its so dark, but thats why I wanted to live there. I keep dying from multiple creeper attacks, so its harder than I thought. I'm at 20 and 1 half right now, so im pretty close.
A kitchen is one of the things I have been working on lately:
Most of the blocks in here are from Mr Crayfish's Furniture Mod, except for the slab-like crafting table, which is the 2nd form of Crafting Station from Tinker's Construct. While I was doing this I heard a loud explosion outside. An Ars Magic2 Moonstone Meteorite landed. I got another 5 Moonstone from it.
I have also been doing a bit of mining lately down at diamond level, and gotten almost another full stack of diamonds. I've also gotten a lot of other ore, most of every type in the game except for copper, tin and dark iron, which do not generate at Y=12.62. Copper typically generates above Y=40 or so, while Tin generates at about Y=30. Dark Iron is found down near bedrock, at Y levels < 5.
The two rooms made out of marble brick are done. I am still trying to decide what I want to do with them, though the idea of liquid storage and power generation is a good idea. One other main project I have done was create a tree farm. I have 21 oak, 14 brich and 7 spruce trees. The walls are ornate stone brick tiles from the Chisel mod. There is only a single layer of them 7 blocks high. To keep spiders out (most of the farm is outside the range of the Magnum Torch) I placed stone brick stairs upside down around the outside. Unfortunately these could not be Chiseled.
You might notice that my XP dropped a bit between the two images. That is because every time I use an Open Blocks Elevator, some XP is used. It isn't really much, so I left that option on in the Open Blocks config.
I've been building my first ever gold farm, to go with my iron farm at my current base. I researched some of the concepts and then came up with my design, but about 70% of the way thru the build I discovered some of the concepts I'd researched were wrong. For instance i'd seen somewhere it said you need a two block space between each portal, then found out one was OK. I managed to insert two more portals in the build area but the space utilised is not as efficient as it would have been if i'd known that at the start. I'd also not grasped the 32 block limit above which which mobs not will move; I realised that my gold farm would not operate like the iron farm as the pigmen would spawn but not walk off the portals into the water flows if i was more than 32 blocks away. Plus pigmen dying from fall damage yielded a very poor amount of nuggets. In the end i modified the design to match my XP Farm; now the pigmen fall onto a trip wire activated false floor, to take 95% or so damage where they then fall into a final stream to an opening where I can one-hit kill them with my looting III sword. My farm averages around 400 nuggets per hour plus 6-8 ingots. I also designed the farm so that the portals could be turned on and off via dispensers with water and flint & Steel, so the farm can be active only when i want it. I've also attached a Minutor screenshot of my Iron and Gold farms :-)
I made a minor change to my storage room, replacing all the signs above my chests with Oak Wood Labels from Bibliocraft. These work like Item Frames, except you can store 3 items in each Label:
I also added some Dinner Plates from Bibliocraft to my kitchen/dining area. I completed the 2 remaining rooms on the 1st floor of the house as well:
Most of the blocks/items in these two rooms are from Bibliocraft or Mr. Crayfish's Furniture Mod. The TV only shows a few ijmages (He-Man, Nyan Cat - the picture rolls on this one, and a test pattern). The Stereo can play all of the Music Discs without actually needing them. The computer has Minebay on it where you can trade Iron Ingots and some other items for valuable items, The printer can be used to duplicate Written and Enchanted Books.
It's got a living area, storage room and crafting room (with enchanting table + bookshelves, brewing stand, anvil) an "outside" area with animals + a small farm. Then it's also got an entrance to a mine, and there's an above water mob farm + gold farm that both lead to a drop that instantly kills them on some hoppers. If I want I also have some pistons set to drop them down about 21 blocks and lead them to a waterfall, where they can be manually killed for xp.
I have just begun building the Beast's Castle from Beauty & the Beast. It took forever to find a mountain large enough, and gather the materials needed to begin such a project. I have only started leveling off the mountain as of yet, but here are a few pictures of what I hope to build in the next couple months.
I've been doing some mining for diamonds lately, and have increased my total by about a stack. Hacing my Fortune III pickaxe with me has helped get me the extra diamonds. I've also gotten a fair amount of most of the other ores in the modpack except for copper, tin, dark iron, amber and apatite. Most of these generate at higher levels than where I am at (just above the lava layer), and dark iron generates only in the bottom 5 blocks above bedrock.
In addition I have been doing some IC2 stuff in preparation for upgrading my machine line to Advanced Machines. I would like to add the MFE in somewhere and split the power output into 4 128 EU/t lines for machines. I made the Advanced Batpack, which can hold 600,000 EU and can charge all tools but the Iridium Drill. I also made the Diamond Drill, Electric Wrench, Electric Treetap, and the Chainsaw. For power I am still relying on lava and 3 Geothermal Generators. I may add a few more as I need, though I am focusing more on getting a couple of MV Solar Arrays going.
To that end (the arrays will need 128 Electronic Circuits - 128 iron plates, 256 redstone, 768 copper and 768 rubber) I have added 2 more Extractors to my current line, and am moving around the Overclockers I currently have as I need them. BTW, overclocking the Metal Former with 6 OC Upgrades makes it use a whopping 168 EU/t, more than the CESU I have able to put out, and way more than a mere 3 Geothermal Generators can produce. I will also need to make 64 Generators and macerate 3 stacks of coal. I will also need glass, a total of 3 stacks. That is in addition to 8 LV Transformers and 1 MV Transformer. And that is for just 1 MV Solar Array. I don't think I have enough copper to spare to make 3 right now, and 2 would use up most of what I have.
While mining I encountered another pool of Liquid Poison. The last time I cam into contact with this stuff, I was on Peaceful difficulty and it only poisoned me for a short time. This time I was on Easy difficulty and in addition to causing the loss of about half my health from the poison, it also inflicted a hunger debuff. I mined my way around it, and ran tunnels outside where it was. It was just above me, making dealing with it more difficult than if it were at my level or below me.
Edit: It looks like my main source of IC2 power for right now is going to be lava. I added another 3 Geothermal Generators to the 3 I already had, as I wanted to run the Metal Former a bit faster than I was doing with 3 Overclockers in it. I opted for 5 of those - 6 not only consumed the huge amount of power mentioned already, but was draining it's internal storage. The extra Geomthermals are so the CESU can keep up with the power demands of the Metal Former, which uses 105 EU/t with 5 OC's in it.
I went mining agaIn for copper and tin. Although I have plenty of both, the Solar Arrays are going to use a lot of it: copper in the cables and tin for the batteries used in each generator.
World # 3 Started: Early Beta Resource Pack: Soartex Fanver
Synopsis: Built in a sand pit among a sparse forest back in Beta, the original build was very basic & it was pretty much a cube. I gave up in 2012 after starting a fishing village which was just a board-walk away (A very long one) from my main home. I didn't get far with it. In early 2013 I started modifying the house built was experimenting with Mo'Creatures, 2 ogres spawned in the house
Instead of going to the back-up I used the opportunity to knock it down and completely re-build it in a new modern style. More work on the fishing village and I've begun building the harbor master's home, early days yet however.
All the original 2011 sand paths initially used just for marking out the then proposed hotel (Not being done now) have gone and I've continued to expand the front of the grounds in front of the house with excess dirt.

Lately I've been moving the en-suite bathroom to where the old rear lounge is over looking the pool. I'm not going into detail however as I have a main thread for that, I mention it because creepers kept spawning and surprising me:
After the works:
You'd have never known! (Apart from the fact I centered the old Alpha fake bed in the very middle of the window behind it at last, after all these years, the rug moving because of which and the fancy new blinds!)
They also got me outside the former rear lounge/new bathroom location:

I tried but I had to make an edit and it ate most of the post because of this forum software spoiler bug.
If by "spoiler bug" you mean how spoilers don't show up when you preview a post or after editing a post, they do show up after you post or refresh the page (as a result, I add spoiler tags just before I post). Not sure why it hasn't been fixed yet either as I'm sure a lot of people are having this issue.
well sorry. gosh. i didnt say i read everything in one day so i forgot this one.. also. dont know how to add spoilers in editing post. but dont wory, next time there will be spoilers.

Yeah it is well known, and we've been promised a fix in the near future. I'm not gonna try and edit again however, I already tried 3 times.

I built the first two houses for my artificial village. I built a 12-door duplex (a pair of apartments) and an 8-door house. Once I have 4-5 houses built there, I'll give myself a couple of villager spawn eggs in NEI and leave the rest to villager breeding. Luckily, I'm playing in 1.7.10, so I don't have to worry about them needing to be "willing" to breed. Still, I'm going to put crops in the village (along with pure decorations like fountains) since they look nice and will hopefully also space things out so the village will be less crowded.
I got my mining tunnel to the depth where I like to start my "deep" mines. I didn't run into any caves until the very end of the tunnel and even that "cave" was just a little air pocket. However, directly below the first "cell" of my column mine is a lava lake, so I'll have to dig some distance away from it before digging the lower floor. (I keep the main mine on a lower floor so that the tunnel doesn't get in the way.)
I made some armor for my horse using the recipe that I defined in Json Recipes. Since that recipe requires 2 pairs of iron leggings, an iron helmet, and 3 iron plates, I needed 22 iron ingots and three uses of my forge hammer (to make the plates); it also requires a block of black wool but that's not a huge deal since I have a few sheep tied to fence posts for easy access to wool and there is an ocean near my home which means that a bit of hunting while swimming can get me quite a few ink sacs. (I'm going to build a sheep farm with as many colors of wool as I can get, but for now I'm just using the sheep I have.)
I finally got the digging for my cow pen done! It's a big pit (well, not as big as some digging projects I see around here, but it's certainly not a tiny hole) that is lit with torches placed on fence posts. It was a big project since there was a deposit of quarried stone (from RailCraft; the building blocks you can make from it look really nice) that I wanted to mine every block of, so there was a lot of digging and I needed several stacks of dirt to fill in the gaping hole left from digging out the quarried stone. I love the way that blocks made from quarried stone look, though, so it's well worth it.
I've made some progress on digging my chicken pit. It's going to be much smaller than the cow pit since, well, chickens are much smaller than cows. My eventual sheep farm will also be in a dug-out pit, but that will come after the chicken pit since I already have a few sheep that are easily accessible from my house.
I still haven't put a roof on my house, but I will definitely do that soon. I'm way too lazy about that, I admit. Since I play on peaceful mode, I don't have to worry about spiders climbing the walls (and other dangers that can come from not having a roof), so I don't have all that much pressure to finish is quickly.
That's the story thus far!

Can't believe I wasted 12 levels on this.
I am an artist. All the art you see on my profile is by me, if it's not I will say so and whom its owner is.
Seriously guys, OP said to use spoilers for a good reason.
Anyways...
On my server, I'm stuck in an obsidian room because my friend decided to prank me and leave me in the room with an Elder Guardian outside

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
Affectionately known as The Barony, 87 stacks of obsidian bliss. Inside? Well, that has yet to be determined. My base, I guess.
Very nice. Maybe you can turn it into a prison? You can make cliffs on the stone shoreline and have a kind of rope bridge leading to it.
Yeah it is well known, and we've been promised a fix in the near future. I'm not gonna try and edit again however, I already tried 3 times.
