I was just wondering what other people's storage rooms look like, because I mainly stick to singleplayer. Here's my old storage room.
EDIT: 500th post! Woohoo!
MINEisn't really all that great, once I get onto a decent multi player server I'll probably make a fancy one and all, but ATM its just chests stacked here and there near mines, farms, and inside nether portals. The only thing I label are chests with random stuff in it. In mines its usually sorted into dirt/sand/gravel cobblestone and ores. P:
I'm not a big organiser with chests nor do I make enough to store things. I want to make one on this server I play but we have a thief about and I need some really secret chest room layered with obsidian. *sigh* if only pistons could move obsidian.
It's fairly simple really, but I quite like the way it looks. At the end of the path is my brewing area, behind me ladders leading up to my base.
The dog and cat both teleported down here to me at some point, so I just left them here to guard I guess lol.
In between the chests are signs, just under the lamps and in the larger gaps (the birch), pressure plates that when activated, open access to two furnaces in front of them. A bit overkill, but I like it.
That's actually quite nice. I like the usage of the birch along the walls and ceiling. And one last thing, what's the texture pack? It looks amazing.

Wow. I'm so unorganized compared to everyone else.
hey, Scum, whats your texture pack? I've been looking for one like that forever.

My avatar-Madison Gotha. She knows various weapons, she's a mage/sage, and is somewhat immortal. Madison has the capability of taming and communicating monsters, a genetic trait passed down by her father. 26 physically, 1400-something mentally, and a Lofty Peakian/Zenithian mix. Doesn't really like being called an elf and hates being called human..

This is my new storage room, I built in on the same site as my old storage room about a month ago. That was the worst experience ever, as I had to move every single item I had...twice. Once to get them out of the old room so that I could build the new room, and again to place them into the new room.
Also, with the 2 item frames for 3 chests, I really didn't think that through too well. No matter, it isn't a big deal.
This is from my main world, World#2 that I've had since Alpha, a home embedded inside a mountain.
The only area left after two years that retains the cobblestone..
Now whilst it's not that impressive, It has evolved hugely in space and layout over the last two years:
Two floors up from where it is now it began in a small dug out area in the wall...
It was then relocated to a cave inside my home "Embedded in a mountain":
Just before the top left you might see the corner of a door I had to put inas there was an even bigger cave there (Now a science lab), so I had to stop the mobs coming through and blowing my chests up!
Starting to evolve:
New bunker accessed by hatches, leading down to a collection point to collect the drops from the mobs:
The storage area was so tiny back then...
A new era...
A new galley to the right of the picture, but the cave has been sealed over:
About to change after a re-decor to the halls down to storage and the moving of the incinerator.
A brand new galley on the reverse of the previous:
And the mouth of that cave...
So as you can see the decor hasn't changed much over two yyears, but the space certainly has! What also isn't show is right to side of the stairs, (Left as you come down) is a door that goes through to the cobblestone generator and down to a branch mine).

I recently went the other way on my storage. I started turning all of my iron, lapis, gold, diamonds, and emeralds into blocks and build a large warehouse to store them. It's pretty cool to walk in and see a room actually full of loot.
I really like what a lot of you have done, very nice works.
Sorry it may be a little dark. It's pretty basic. I don't have too much stuff hanging around since not all the chests are even used. It works for me so I like it.
It's nothing special, just a 7x3x7 room with 16 chests in it! I don't really need that many but 8 isn't enough and that's the next lowest choice!

I prefer multiple small specialized storage rooms with a minimum of barren floor space. The bulk of those rooms are situated in my Keep tower. Some are located elsewhere within the fortress.
Keep Tower, exterior view:
This tall structure, seen at distance center-screen, is the hub of my fortress. Its tower is devoted almost wholly to storage. The upper, fifth, floor was added November 2012. The tower is not yet complete. At some point I will add one more functional floor, then cap it with a proper roof.
Keep Tower, basement:
This room started life as the natural entrance to a vast cave, abandoned mine, underground ravine, branch mine complex. I eventually shored up its walls and ceiling and converted it into a storage facility for heavy constructions materials. Housed here is dirt, gravel, cobblestone, sand and sandstone of various sorts, and of all things snowballs.
Keep Tower, second floor:
My first and for some time only storage room. It also contains my main oven banks. Kept here are diamonds, gold, silver, obsidian, various processed stone blocks, processed red brick products, various Nether construction blocks, coal, and eggs.
Keep Tower, third floor:
Wood logs and planking, rails, fencing, various misc. wood products, redstone dust, Lapis Lazuli, leather, a few odds and ends.
Keep Tower, fourth floor:
This image was captured before chests were installed. The floor remains half bare of containers. Bones, rotten flesh, gunpowder, slime balls, and other mob byproducts can be found here.
Keep Tower, fifth floor:
A newly added floor, dedicated to alchemy. I am in the midst of configuring it. Only essential brewing apparatus are in place, including some dispensers and storage chests.
Farm Shed:
This small open-air structure, seen center-screen, was my original crop storage facility. The bulk of its contents have long since been moved to a better protected underground storage bunker. About all of value I store here now is saplings and seeds. Note that this image shows the Keep before its fifth floor was added.
Underground crop storage:
Unprocessed farm crops are kept here. Its claim to fame is an obsidian ceiling, it being beneath one layer of dirt and thus theoretically subject to creeper detonation damage. Truth to tell, my fortress upper plateau is nowadays so secure no mob can reach it from below or spawn there.
Underground wool storage:
Wool, dyes, shears, misc. Located at my lower terrace sheep pens.
In addition to the above, my Keep Tower has a first floor mud room that holds two single chests, one for cooked foods, the other for tool storage, buckets of lava and water, specialized tools, and a few often-needed blocks. Additionally, chests for arrows, bows, backup weapons and armor are housed in my Keep living quarters section.
Here's a few shots of my recently (over the weekend) remodeled main storage area in my base. Remodelling roughly doubled the capacity, and made the room a lot nicer to look at (though it takes up a lot more space...still, the old storage room was undoubtedly the ugliest room in my base, and one of the very earliest created - moving the contents of 40 or so chests is really a disincentive to redoing storage areas). Still, I was out of room for several things (only had one chest for coal and redstone, and both were overflowing) - the redo took it from 40 chests up to 76 chests, and allowed me to double the chests assigned to stuff that was overflowing while setting up a few chests in the room that are unassigned for future use.

I don't have a room dedicated specifically for storage. My house is spacious enough to serve as a home and a storage unit. I have organized everything though:

I want to see some awesome storage room ideas too. The more the merrier.

Minecraft [Alpha] 1.7.3 had blocks that you can use to build with.
Minecraft now has blocks that you can use to build with.
Nothing has changed in my opinion." That is all.
