I have played a total of 2 worlds in Minecraft, when I saw this challenge I decided to give it a go. This is in total the third world I have played.
My luck they spawned me in a Jungle......I hate jungles with a passion currently. Tons of wood, but to much brush to clear away.
I started this on friday and have been playing off and on this weekend. Just finished wood
Wood Tools, Weapon, Saplings, Bread and 3 types of cooked meat.
Leather Boots, Stack of Torches, and a Stack of logs
Here is the basement of my house, 7 furnaces in the backround. The torch sits under my spawn block. Im not sure if I could use Glass but I did anyways.
Main Level, there are 3 double chest, a crafting table, and the glass block that is my initial spawn.
This is up the stairs. There is my bed, and 2 doors out to the patio.
Shot off the back of my patio, has my chicken coup. Found out the cats in the game like getting in with my chickens, I had to fence the whole thing in to prevent them from being eaten.
My wheat farm is outside my compound. I could not find a good way to get water up to my house without using a bucket.
Gate out of my place. I replaced it with a door, they both look tacky.
Took a fun ride on a stack of 64 dirt, ariel of my compound the wheat farm is in the top left but its covered by trees/my wall. The depression on the bottom right is where I started my quary. I am almost to bedrock.
Started on stone age. We will see how long this takes, I want to put a wall around my farm and quary. It going to be a lot of clearing.
Found my first Dungeon when I started my quary. There were 6-8 iron bars, and a saddle in them.
Iron Age complete!! Took me almost 4 months to go from Wood to Stone and only two to go from Stone to Iron. MAJOR re-design of the keep, moved farm & animal pens outside of inner wall, etc, etc, so all-in-all I'm proud of what I accomplished in the limited amount of playtime I have (Job + kids = not much Minecraft time!).

Oooops...almost forgot the flag!!! Don't really like it, but I'll leave it for now:
The first world I tried I spawned high up in a tree in a hilly jungle. There was just no way. I tried again and was lucky enough to spawn in a nice wooded area.
I've made it though both the wood and stone ages .. iron is going to take awhile! My castle is pretty unimpressive right now but I think it's going to be quite nice when it's done.
I've added two modifiers to my playthrough of this challenge. I cannot harvest or plant crops/trees when the weather is not clear/sunny just to add a little bit more realism to this, seeing as I spawned in the harshest environment in Minecraft.
Hey all. Been doing this challenge a while now, but I have no screenshots to share. Instead, I have a video series. Check it out if you want:
I'm actually doing the challenge with a bit of a twist: I'm using some mods that fit the medieval style of this challenge, primarily magic mods like Ars Magica and Thaumcraft. I do go by the title Mage King in other videos of mine, so I figured it made sense to add magic to my world, which will actually give the wizard's tower later on some actual use.
I've worked my way to the iron age and am about to advance to the golden age, which is going to force me to remodel my castle a bit. But will I get to do it before a disaster ends up striking my village?

Do you guys like mods? Do you like magic? Do you enjoy the idea of adding magic to minecraft? Check out my channel, and see just how awesome minecraft with magic can be! --> http://www.youtube.c.../darkpheonix005
I'll be finishing the Feudalism part of this challenge tomorrow. Spawned in Ice Plains, lol.
Edit:
I don't think you did a very good job anyway, and that is one of the ugliest things I've seen on Minecraft for so much effort.
Come on now, no need to be nasty, That is a great foundation for this challenge, if they had stuck with it a little longer I bet it would have looked awesome! and it's a better tactic then what I did, which was expand the walls every stage, that got a little annoying in the end. So, if you don't like it then you are valid to your opinion, but just don't be nasty on the forums, it only makes you look ugly on the inside, and trust me no one likes that.
By the way, your castle is looking good I recon it'll look awesome when it's finished.
Old world got deleted upon new computer... o well ill start again! will post pics as I go, also I will be using the rule from the city building challenge of supports in mines and having to use a helmet to go underground.
Alrighty, just finished my wooden age, rather simple designs for now but I like the feel of it for the wooden age, should get more complex as I expand into each stage what you see inside the main walls and such will most likely end up as my keep. Also got a bit of luck with a nearby village that I plan on kidnapping villagers latter to give my city some population and a more lively feel! Without further adu I have my pictures

I'm a bit more comfortable with building and plan to add a lot more fine touches in the next stage.

I'll be using the Inspiration texture pack by TobiwanK3nobi for my playthrough. It's a fantastic pack for building medieval-style stuff.
---Feudalism era complete:
First look from spawn point: Oh dear.
All wooden age/Feudalism era requirements:
-Keep
-2+ Animals (same species)
-3/4+ high bedroom (separate)
-Storage/workspace area
-All required items
-Spider-proof wall (with entrance gate)
-Wheat farm (growing)
Finally, time to use stone tools!

I certainly beg to differ.
