I left Minecraft on for around 7 hours, 30 blocks away from the chunk, completely lit up, on Normal, 4 blocks high. Cleared out surrounding chunks, lit up, on bedrock, nothing. What do I do?
i tried to set up a slime farm using this nice slime finder: http://mcslimes.appspot.com/ - it told me that there are 3 slime chunks side by side, so i went to the X and Z coordinates and build a cave with 3 blocks height and 3x 16x16 chunks long. Everything ok so far, then i placed torches around this area and digged a little tunnel on the same level so i can stay at least 24 blocks away from the chunk. After about 5 minutes i checked but found no slime and no other mob. As i was running around in this area, 1 small slime spawned randomly, but after that, i still don't get any slime spawning there. Is there anything i do wrong?

I've been having similar problems with that program. On my smp anarchy server I spent the time to clear a slime farm out. 3 tall and 16 by 16. I sit 24 blocks away for an hour and NONE spawn. I think my issue may be due to mob limits because many chunks are loaded at once. I haven't gotten a single slime though so...
set the map type to flat, and put in your seed. Spawn, and see where slimes are spawning. Make a normal map with the same seed, and use the locations from the flat map to find slime spawning locations.
Both Rei's minimap and the webapp proved the area I mined out were indeed slime chunks. I've managed to spawn a few on SMP, but I guess they aren't spawning as much as I want them too due to the fact I haven't lit up every adjacent cave. Would half slabs work? What I mean is can aggressive mobs spawn on top of half slabs? I have a ton of cobblestone I don't play on using.
So I built my spawning floor in a good chunk on layer 40, but when I went to dig out the canals I realized my mob trap was right beside my slime farm (and I mean right beside it) almost all of the caves are lit up. My question is that because all of the hostile mobs are going to spawn within a few chunks (mob trap) will slimes still spawn in my farm?
they were spawning before... now there aren't any in sight. I have the xray mod to check if there's mobs spawning nearby, there aren't. I've lowered the room one block as well.
Hello all, I am having trouble finding Slimes so I looked into this info and used the tool to find slimes in OP. I don't use mod. I have built 2 of 16x16 rooms with 3 blocks height where the tool show green box in.
For many days, we haven't seen at least one slime. This is very frustrating.
Any idea if I possible miss anything? I have followed all the requirement to spawn slimes.
Just wanted to say i'm unable to use the slime finding tool http://mcslimes.appspot.com/. after I select my level.dat file and enter the x + z co-ordinates I'm able to bring up the grid to display the slime chucks etc... is happening to anyone else?
Also tried it in both firefox + Internet explorer and same issue with both browsers, i've installed the latest version of java + flash and no change...
I build a huge 50x50 base at layer 12 on my survival mode, however i never seen a slime spawn in that hole. I use the program with my seed and it told me to i had 2 side by side chunks of spawnable ground within 25 blocks of one of my wall, so i dig a tunnel, opened up a 20x20x3 room and within 5 minutes of finishing the room i had slimes ! Great program.

have you tried using coord boundries instead of the central point? I had problems with central point also, but setting boundries worked for me.
Hello, in my survival world I recently made a slime farm, but it doesn't spawn many slimes at all.
Could someone point out what's wrong with it or how to improve it?
It has 3 layers and it's definately a slime chunk. Once you download the world it's in front of you.
Make sure all the surrounding caves, out too 144 blocks in every direction are lit up... I found a couple of slime chunks under my mob spawner and they wern't producing as well, but as I've been lighting up everything to fix the spawner, I am becoming over run with slimes.
(slime:zombie:skeleton:creeper:spider.x
x= change of spawning spider jockey (spider jockey = a skeleton riding a spider))
No, every spider has a 1% chance of becoming a spider jockey (before spawning), so it would be something like
1 slime
9.9 spider
10 skeleton
10 creeper
1 enderman
0.1 spider jockey
Hi,
I am currently playing in SMP v1.2.3. Since this update, we no longer have a seed for the world... Is there a way to know on which chunks they spawn?
And as the slimes use the seed to know where to spawn, does this affect their spawn rate?
You will want to be between 24 and 112 blocks away from the edge of the slime chunk.

OH SHI-
Does the tool work for 1.1 yet?Forget that question, it does.
Don't make things too complicated.
