Some interesting ideas here. I usually end up building a home that resembles a dungeon from the Super Hostile maps though. I once built a large underground cave with leaves hanging from the roof, vines dripping down the sides, and lit by jack-o-lanterns. It was based off of the Grove of the Dark Willows from the Spellbound Caves.
The point here, is that while you can base your buildings on LP'ers worlds, another good idea is to look at some custom maps, and make a base that resembles your favorite part of said map.
Nice job! You inspired me to begin construction on my own base, and I can't wait to see how it turns out! Thanks for making this thread.

Christianity in a nutshell: We have all sinned, so we deserve eternity in hell. But God (God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit) loved us so much he sent His Son to die for us, to take the punishment meant for us. All we need to do is accept it, and we have heaven headed our way.
Nice one man! From the amount of posts this thread has, I can tell it's not enough. You spent HOURS writing this (I wrote a seed spotlight thread and that took me 1/2 and hour and it only had 4 pictures!). So congrats for completing this (Or from what I can tell, it looks completed)!
So well done, And I hope I stumble across another great thread by you!

I'm quite busy with IRL... high school coursework load is quite high right now.
But yeah, I hope to add more things to this thread in future. With all the new content being added in the new updates, there's certainly a lot more that I could do with this thread.
Also, at some point in the future, I will be making more threads like this. Perhaps one on caving, maybe one on the End and Nether... the possibilities are endless!
Amazing! I’m going to make an underground base in cave systems once 4J releases 1.8 (anyday now, hopefully!) and I’m looking to Etho’s base and this thread for inspiration, definately bookmarking this one!

Beta 1.8, for Xbox, if I understood correctly (is it possible to "understand wrong"?).
Anyways, just a few tips:
Orange, Cyan and Lime Green wools and Netherrack go well together.
Soul Sand gives a place a worn-down feel, along with anything mossy or cracked.
Cobble and End Stone look ugly if used wrong or overused, but amazing when used right.
Redstone Lamps look a lot better than Glowstone with smoother, more modern blocks, like the Brick types, but not with things like Cobble.
Keep animal farms at least 16 blocks away from you whenever possible; you won't hear the mooing and clucking and baaah-ing and snorting.

Sweet thanks.
Do you mean orange, cyan, limegreen wool, and netherrack look good all together, or respectively?
I have moved on to a new project! Click my siggy for details.
I still may create a second thread in this series of tips on Minecraft, but I'm working on the CTM Shop, a hub for CTM maps now! Hope you guys understand, and I enjoyed making this thread and replying to it!

A diamond for you!
Thank you.
I mean serious. Don't have diamonds. Diamonds are worthless. Take my pet creeper.
Steelfeathers himself posted in my thread?
*has nerdgasm
