I farm them and slaughter them in the most brutal fashion possible.
Sometimes they die from being pushed off a large cliff going through numerous lava blades and cacti at the bottom. Other times they jump into minecarts and powered into a giant lava lake. But worst of all, I enjoy drowning them, as the slow and painful death is always the most satisfying.
Then I hoard their loot and and put it in my storage room.
Soo... animal abuse protection covers chickens, pigs, cows, squids and wolves but what about spiders, creepers and ghasts?!? Just because you intrude on their territory and they become aggressive doesn't give you the right to remove them from abuse protection.
Everyone is only concerned about protecting the "friendly" animals.
Admit it, we're all animal abusers in Minecraft.
I too initially thought this, but how are we intruding on their territory? Think about it, when you spawn a new world, you are the first thing created. The world generates around you and then mobs are spawned. IMO, if anything, all mobs intrude on your territory (since you were the first thing on the planet.) Also, those aggressive mobs attack you. And in America (where I am from atleast) if someone attacks you, you have every right to defend yourself. I've rarely chase after a hostile mob, they have all come to attack me and I just defend myself!
I think this thread is 100x more useful that half the **** posted here. There's atleast some kind of discussion.
Cows- I kill them for Leather and thier a game mob
Chickens- Eggs, why need feathers when zombies drop that
Pigs- I burn
Octipus- I kill for thier Sacks
Sheep- Wool DUH
Wolves- I kill 1 or 2 wild whenever i feel like it.
*Pigs - I make mushroom stew, cookies, cakes, and bread. So I don't need their beef
You eat one of the rarests foods on minecraft?
I'm curious as to how you found that many dungeons.
Mushroom stew is common in nether, bread through farming, cake through effort, but eating a f**** (fantastic, you dirty mind) cookie costs tonz of exploration.
Wild wolves kill sheep, so they must be either tamed or killed.
Tamed wolves require pork chops, so you need to do one of three things:
1. Lock them up in a room and never let them out
2. Kill pigs to keep the wolves fed
3. Let the wolves starve to death
I made a series of canals all over my base that takes every animal spawned in my area and funnels them into a giant pit of lava. I use TMI so I don't need the drops I just like to listen to the mobs burn.
I kill cows for leather when I need armor;
I only kill chikens when they're in my way;
I have tonns of porkchops in my chests
I get the wool from sheeps, but don't waste any of my swords to kill them
Nevermind the squids until they stay in the water;
As for wolves, I tame them and put into my house so they can sit there forever
If you count spiders to the friendly ones (wiki does at daylight) I kill them with happiness in my heart

How cruel are you?
Starve? Number 3 isn't possible, as it could be a Number 1 consequence!
This video clearly shows how I treat my local wildlife in Minecraft... I say, there are in the game for amusement, and firey DOOM!! Flaming pigs and cows for the win! Down with PETA!!

Cows: I kill them, they smell like BS, and they get in my way :S
Chickens: Are those guys who push you of cliffs, kill them.
Pigs: I need that meat more then they do.
Sheep: I don't need their soppy wool! I need to show them that I'M superior in every way. Kill them.
Squids: I'm superior ANYWHERE.
Do you always drop acid then get on the forums for fun?
I kill animals because they are in my way, and I don't like it when they trample my crops. But sheep wool takes up space in my inventory and it's real annoying to have it take up inventory space.
The only animals I don't like killing are spiders. They aren't hurting anyone, why would I hurt those cute little guys? Unless they're doing that jump from your roof and ambush you thing at night, that's too scary for me.
Also, I will do that little song quote thing you do:
-Merciless butcher who lives underground, I'm out to destroy and I will cut you down chuggachuggachuggachuggachuggachuggachuggachuggachugga It's Black Friday
I everything but wolves. Why? Ever make a really long railway and then a pig jumps in front of your cart, making you go backwards? Its annoying. Plus I cant leave carts out b/c I will come back to a sheep stuck sitting in it. I hate farm animals

Sorry for pretending they were real for a minute. EDIT #3 to "let them take damage until they die because you never feed them."
Hmphhh, in meh server ppl (only 4 ppl in the zerver) kill cows just because this week leather is almost as gold, so, yes, i had a massacre yesterday.
My dog pack was getting far too big so I burned all but one of them.
Using the passive is fantastic.
