Sorry I haven't really done any updates in a while - the computer that the world was on sort of crashed. Fortunately, we managed to recover all the files (including the world save) but I won't really be able to do much progress at the moment. I think I grabbed the screenshots folder though so I might be able to post something.
Just a couple warnings, 1. The bottom floor of the dormitories is very crowded as that is where I spawned 64 villagers, and 2. In order to get to the globe of the tower from the interior, you will need some light parkour skills.

OMG Thank you!!!!! And is it ok if I show this on youtube? I'll say ur name, don't worry
Started it, and found it to be a bit bland. So I looked up a mod like this : http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1157675-lmss-mods-125-better-endermen-better-spider-jockeys/ And it turns out that it makes all endermen in the nearby area attack as soon as one is hit. I didn't read that part so I got murdered instantly after going to the end...... Not a good idea on my part. But still the mod makes the challenge so much more interesting.
So I saw this challenge a couple weeks ago and liked it a lot, since I'm fond of challenges with plots, as well as book suggestions. I built a little bit, decided to glance through the thread to make sure my stuff wasn't too horrendously sub-par to post, saw the word "Neopets" and did a double take. Holy crap. You're child_dragon. Neopets was like 80% of my childhood, and you were totally one of my idols. I actually printed out As Told by child_dragon at some point. It might still be around in a drawer somewhere, if it didn't get purged in one of my failed attempts to be organized. That's awesome. Apparently the internet is smaller than I thought.
Having embarrassed myself sufficiently by fangirling, I guess there's no reason not to post some pictures now, heh.
I didn't use a lovely texture pack like everyone else, but I'm not quite tired enough of the default look to change yet.
First stage
Just a 11x11 box, basically. Spent too long mining and dithering about what location to use and didn't want to run out of time. There really is a ventilation space, but my mage is standing in front of it, judging me for my poor planning skills
The First Refugees
I basically made a large cylinder around my initial box. Forgot to take outside screenshots because I wasn't planning on posting anything at that point. The dormitories surround the center room, and I have quite nearly enough for the next stage too, hooray!
Here's my very minimalistic room. I'd like to pretend I'm an enlightened ruler and put my subjects' comfort above my own; whereas in actuality, I didn't want to spend too much effort on temporary quarters. Ground floor? Ugh. Also, a ghost chicken seems to be peering through my walls. Probably shouldn't have slaughtered so many. :/
Expanding the tower
Still working on it, but here's a view of the common area and some more dormitories.
Taken at night when everyone crowds into a single room in the dormitory. >_> Even so, the tower's probably not as crowded as it's supposed to be, but my computer already lags horrendously whenever I walk nearby, so I'm just going to imagine there are more villagers and not push my poor processor.
Here's how it looks from the outside.
Looks more like a bunker now, but it should be taller later.
So, a work in progress, at any rate, but at least it's mostly functional.
Oh wow, Naravelle! This reminds me of my own (would-be) tower. XD I really like your design and can't wait to see it develop.
Aww, thanks. I think your tower is awesome too. The water parts look especially nice. I was reading your story as well, and I'm enjoying it. It's a cool idea to write up your gameplay experiences into the story, and I like all the details.
Is there a rule about wearing pumpkins on your head to fight endermen? And if you walk outside your gate and there's an enderman standing right there, can you walk back in?
I'd be posting stuff but were on vacation right now so I probably won't be able to work on the world much. I will get back to it as soon as I can though.
YOUR TOWER IS AWESOME
Why thank you.
Your welcome, kind sir. Would you also like a cookie with that?and redyoshi, can u post save files so we can see ur progress?
Cookies
I suppose I could post a save file, I'll get around to it later maybe.
TY! I really want to play around with that tower u made. SAVE FILES!

Does this mean fence posts aren't allowed, or did you forget to edit that in?
