So where i did the redstone of docm77's village breeding cell i put in 2 villagers because they escaped and i was lazy to put them back in. Later i started to have lag issues and sound cutting out from too many mobs and i saw that i had a ton of villagers in the basement. Around 300+! I decided to free my children.//i.imgur.com/paoyMf8.png" width="" height="" alt="" />" width="" height="" alt="" />//i.imgur.com/a4A96oC.png" width="" height="" alt="" />" width="" height="" alt="" />//i.imgur.com/jy0vr5u.png" width="" height="" alt="" />" width="" height="" alt="" />
You think that's bad...I started to wonder why all the redstone (and everything else) in my test world was only running at half-speed. Then I realized I left my infinite breeder unattended:

I usually just "turn it off" by busting out a door or just pushing the guy off the platform/killing him. It's just -- the last time I ever used it, I forgot. Then I was never near it but I guess it must have been inside the world's spawn chunks and stayed loaded, because apparently they just kept going. Noticed things like redstone stuff and mobs taking fire damage were working half the speed they should, only in that world, and even when I TP'ed 1000 blocks away. It was only by chance I flew over that way one day and went "yup, that'll do it."

Ah pretty good idea. I had a similar problem where I left a quadruple mob spawner running all night, wrote a mod which makes mob spawners lootable with silk touch.. wasn't lucky enough to actually find a quad spawner if you were wondering, and came back to roughly 2000 zombies and skeletons in my kill zone. Ended up with the game bouncing between 0-1 fps and took a couple splash potions of healing I had in a chest close by.
Throwing 3-4 splash took almost 30 minutes on its own because turning the lights on in the trap, getting to the chest, and getting the potions took about 20 minutes and getting back and throwing them took another 10 because of the lag, then me not thinking about the experience orb entities and items from loot raised the entity count to around 8000 and I spent about another hour and a half afk while the game sort through the experience and the items slowly cycled into my item sorter. Luckily it was on my own server and my friends who used to play on it with me weren't trying to get on at the time.
After two hours of frustration I realised I was an idiot and could have turned the server off and changed it to peaceful for a second and then changed it back once the mobs were gone. Oh well, lesson learned I guess.

Concerning an "off-button," would funnelling the new villagers into a lava trap do the trick as well?
Well, that's going to be a lot tougher than just taking the villager from the doors out temporarily, and you'd have to shove the villagers into the hole of lava. You could set up a dispenser with a lava bucket but be careful that you don't destroy everything.

This happened with me too on my survival world, but not nearly as badly.
I was using tango-tek's villager breeder () and made a small house for it to protect it. The desing had an auto-killer so I let it running without worries. However somehow the villagers didn't get killed from it and when I checked the house again it were full of villagers. I guess there were probably around 100-200 villagers in total on the worst state. Fortunately I got the situation on control quite quickly.
Uhg, I did it again. Left my breeder on when I went out for the night (normally leave my game afk to let my farms run), came back to 1400 villagers and 1fps. I normally don't like to cheat, but I put a zombie inside and walked away for 30 mins, came back, turned it to peaceful for a split second to get rid of the zombies, had about 15 villagers left. I guess that worked out.

I'm not sure how this even happened. But right now, there's iron golems and villagers raining from the sky, sadly none of the golems are getting into my trap. I think some how my infinite breeder in my base behind me linked up into the iron farm and now they're breeding like rabbits and I'm not quite sure what to do about it, besides destroy my infinite breeder in my house. I may go the same route of tossing a zombie in there and turning it to passive after a few. The infinite breeder is about 32 blocks on the x axis, 45 on the y axis, and 15 z away from the iron golem farm. I'm guessing this is too close now.

Okay, what the balls is going on here? I've been far away from my base for several hours...like, over 700 blocks far. When I left, there were maybe half a dozen villagers in the breeder, and just now I come back to this:
I didn't shut it off before I left, because I didn't think they would keep breeding while it was unloaded. And it should have been unloaded, since this is not in my spawn chunks (I know this, because I have the spawn chunks marked out so I could build an iron farm there. Borders marked out using a mod, confirmed with the item-despawn test.) I may have to re-install SPC and use /killall to get rid of them all...

I once built a dark room style mob farm that pushed mobs into the nether. Left it running all night, came back to well over 5k mobs in it. It was a HUGE pain because i had to use damage to clear the creepers and THEN use healing to clear the zombies and skellies. It SUCKED. Took like 3 hours to clear the xps
And it should have been unloaded, since this is not in my spawn chunks (I know this, because I have the spawn chunks marked out so I could build an iron farm there. Borders marked out using a mod, confirmed with the item-despawn test.) I may have to re-install SPC and use /killall to get rid of them all...
How close is it to your spawn chunks?
I ask because I've observed some rather strange behavior in my own SSP world with spawn chunks - I have a zombie+skeleton grinder about 4 chunks beyond my spawn chunks, and if I exit it via nether portal while it's full, it seems to suppress mob spawning everywhere else in the world (most notably, it reduces the spawn rate in my witch farm until I clear it out).

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.

It is very close, it's in the first and second chunks south of the spawn chunks. And I did exit via nether portal, when I left the area...

Haha. To be honest, your guess is as good as mine. I don't really know, I never played around much in 1.6.4 and never downloaded MCP for it. Since you know for a fact it's not in loaded chunks there's only a few possible things I can even think of. Is if its close enough so that the radius of the village might be in loaded chunks, and so it kept going some how. I don't think this would affect individual villagers however, but I still have to ask. The second thing I can think of is how fast you may have traveled to and from the 700 block distance away from the villagers, however this is highly unlikely seeing that all the villagers in the picture are adults and I'm pretty sure you would have gotten past the loaded chunk range by that point in time. The final thing (and most likely thing in my opinion) is that in 1.6.4 when they changed up structures to properly transition to 1.7, they make have screwed up something in the process and villages and other structures stay loaded at all times, again another highly unlikely thing but out of my 3 best guesses this would seem to be the most likely for me.

The splash harming potions were taking "too damn long!" I think I ended up reverting to 1.6.2 and using SPC's "/killall villager" command.

I woke up to 500 golems waiting to be slain.
it is very easy to build, Cheap And the one feature that makes it so great is...... Controllable!
