On my Hardmode SMP, The zombies don't appear to be breaking the doors down. We generally react to them pretty quickly, but the usual cracks aren't appearing. I would have tested it out, but I didn't really think about this until just now, and I'm not at home.
Has anyone else noticed this? Are they failing to break the doors down, or is their a texture glitch not showing the cracks? Or, perhaps, is something else at play here?
(I'm certain the server is on hard mode. Aside from double checking the configuration, other hard mode effects are in play)

I've noticed that the nights spent in villages are not always 12 game-hours of continuous banging. Losing doors was never really an issue because I'd normally just pop a block of dirt in front of it and that would usually be enough to dissuade them... but the incessant banging and moaning was enough to drive you mad! Almost like spending the night in one of those cheap motels down on Miracle Mile....wait, did I type that out loud? Anyway it's good to know that Mojang has tweaked the zombie door mechanic. Almost makes up for the fact that the baby buggers can now slip through the one-block high holes.
Almost.
