How long did it take you to understand the game? When you started to really understand survival mode and what to do, how to craft, what stuff does, etc. How long did it take you to not be well, a "noob"?
That is my question.
A couple of months, man. I was called a "noob" for wayyyy too long.
I thought Peaceful made me invincible. And of course, things got out of hand while mining, and I met lava!
I instantly changed the difficulty to Peaceful, but then, it was too late, and I didn't get out of the lava in time.

To be honest, not long... Took me about half an hour to understand basic stuff like building tools but stuff like mining and physics of the game (which blocks fall, how water works, ect) and such I got right away.
The only thing I had trouble with was how big an nether portal was. Someone told me to build a rectangle of obsidian and light it on fire, that took a while to understand.
What are you talking about? I still feel like a noob sometimes.
Like, you remember that time, when you were out collecting ink sacs (of all things!) and one got away from you, and you couldn't let it go and just had to go diving after it, but you went too deep, and then drowned just inches from the surface on your way back up, and then you forgot to grab any food before you head back out to get your stuff, so by the time you find out where it was, you're hungry and can't regenerate health, and so can't stay under long enough to collect your things before all your enchanted diamond gear despawned? Or...so it's just me then? Yeah, that was today.
(Looking back, I should have just stayed under and picked up as much as I could. I would have died again, but it would reset the 5-minute despawn timer, and the next time I would have known where to look.)
I couldn't get Minecraft for a while because my PC was broken, so I satisfied my hunger by reading the wiki and watching videos until I knew loads about Minecraft. When I finally fixed my PC (Factory Default Reset) I knew loads...
...Somehow I still died everyday I played, coldn't find diamonds, couldn't farm well for a few weeks...
I had the knowedge, but no experience.
I understood the basics in about a day, maybe two.
I was really nooby up until 1.3, the event that followed the unforgettable wipe of my computer's Hard Drive. I don't understand how, but without my first world I seemed to thrive more. I found a village next to spawn, made a floating house with matching floating greenhouse, and I wasn't afraid to live my house at night.
So....guuess it took me a while to get a full understanding.

My avatar-Madison Gotha. She knows various weapons, she's a mage/sage, and is somewhat immortal. Madison has the capability of taming and communicating monsters, a genetic trait passed down by her father. 26 physically, 1400-something mentally, and a Lofty Peakian/Zenithian mix. Doesn't really like being called an elf and hates being called human..
I might be Moderator, but don't bother treating me too special. And don't make tons of Ban Hammer jokes, please. Also, I'm an Off-Topic only Mod. Don't ask me to lock a thread or something if it's not in the off-topic
I don't know. When I first played Minecraft I played on my friend's little brother's account because my brother was being selfish. At that point I played only creative. Then there's a fuzzy patch in my memories and then I played survival on my brother's account until I got my own.
Don't know when I became un-noobish.
Not really sure... Maybe a week or two? But my Cousins introduced me to Minecraft and they where there with me when I started my first world! I also found the wiki eventually...
But, I have been playing about 2 years and I also still don't understand red stone very well...
Well, I kinda understand it, I just don't understand how to make the really complicated things with it.

'All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.' - Gandalf the Grey
I read most of the Minecraft Wiki before I bought the game in 1.2.5, but it took me around a week to get the hang of it. I still don't really know how to make complex things with redstone, though.
That is my question.

But really, not long. 2 days tops

You think magic isn't real? Consider this: for every person, there is a sentence -- a series of words -- which has the power to destroy them.
I STILL don't understand redstone for crap though
It's "U.N Owen was her?" not "Death waltz".Touhou is a game not an anime.
