One of my funniest recent deaths was on Project Ares (server with PvP minigames) I was playing on a map with TNT, team grief is very common there because of that fact, I was lucky enough to get diamond armour fast enough to grab some TNT, a water bucket and some redstone, I went to a high place where I built a cannon (one of those firing 10 TNT at once) to get some kills and destory the other side's supplies. That went pretty good until I forgot to step back, I got flung into the air and died of fall damage, I got a good laughter out of that one as death doesn't matter so much there.
Almost dying to a skeleton, switching to creative mode, hovering to and killing the skeleton, switching back to survival and falling a few blocks, damaging the remaining couple of hearts I had left. Joke's on me, cheaters never win.
I was riding a pig, lets call him Pickles. Pickles and I were on a large overhang, heading towards the edge, and my wireless mouse died. I couldn't get off, and I didn't think to pause the game, so off the cliff we flew. As if to add insult to injury, there was a lava pit below the overhang. Long story short, there were Pickles-and-me-bacon strips scattered everywhere.
An enderman picked up a sand block that was disabling my mob trap, I was collecting the drops.
I stared in shock as i got killed by my own trap.

Death on minecraft are never fun i think but buth there were this one time tho that were rather interesting.
I were exploring a ravine one night. i was just gonna check it out before i started to go down in to it. And i were thinking that its just a cuick look down so i should be ok.
So a stand on the edge looking down and its atleast 15 blocks deep if not more. Then i hear 'ssssssss' i quickly turn around and hit the creeper with my sword. But there is a skelleton behind the creeper. He shoots the creeper and me off the edge.
I land first with half a heart left. The creeper lands half a second after me and blows up....
Good thing is i only had a iron sword on me as i had left all my stuff in my base in case i would fall down the ravine.
i had gone out the door of my house i was wathching my friend ( slpit screen xbox 360 minecraft ) and i was still walkking and i walk right into a revine i lost so many good things but it was still funny
This just happened. i had finally agreed to LAN my precious sp world with my friend, and as soon as he got in, guess what he did. He stole a flint and steel and started sprinting up my giant hollow sky-limit jungle tree base. I sprinted after him, and just as he was about to do the unthinkable, I took a flying leap-punch at him and we both fell to the ground from 70 blocks in the air and died. Then I shut off LAN.
I was once trapped on my brother's skyblock, I had my home set there but some greifers took out our water elevator AND stole the bucket. They successfully left next to nothing, so the only way I could get down was to jump in perfect 1X1 space into a small, 3-block deep pond. Needless to say, I failed a lot. When I finally got down by slowing myself in a lava fall, then hopping into the puddle, not ten seconds later I was shot by a skeleton. Then I remembered: "/spawn"
The stupidest death (pretty close, right?) was when I was working on my epic sky-glass party room about a hundred blocks above my house. I was almost finished with a minecart rail going all the way up, and I needed to cross a 1-block-wide gap. I thought, no problem, I can do this while sneaking so I won't fall. What I didn't realize was that the ceiling was right above me. I didn't have enough room to jump, and I fell all the way down.
I guess a funnier death was my first time going to the End. I didn't take anything with me; I just wanted to see if I needed to bring obsidian to make a path to the island. It turns out I didn't - I got onto the island okay, just took a fair chunk of fall damage. I decided that was acceptable and decided to kill myself to start gathering the things I'd need. I was about to jump into the Void when I realized something much more fun: punching the Ender Dragon. I managed to get two hits in before he killed me. The first thing I thought was "At least I went down fighting."

Come to think of it I haven't died by anything other than my own stupidity since Beta. On topic, the worst time I died was when I was building my standard 9x9 wooden house on the first night of a new world (thanks, Direwolf20!) at around Beta 1.5. I had found a lava lake in a forest and decided it'd be a good idea to put my house next to it.
It wasn't.
As I finished building it was night and I heard fire. I was confused since the lava lake was far from my house, but when I went out I saw that fire had carried over from trees and onto my house. Panicked, I went in my chest and took what little I had and tried to run. I then got shot by a skeleton and knocked into the lava, destroying everything I had.
Lesson learned? Don't build wooden houses next to lava.
My very first world I decided to go for a happy little swim in the 3-block deep pond outside my hole-in-the-wall base. Unfortunately I didn't know I needed to press the spacebar to swim upwards. I drowned fairly quickly. Then I went back to get my stuff from the bottom of the pond and drowned again & again & again.
I was so frustrated I filled in the pond with dirt & placed a sign with swearing & rage on top of it directed at the now dry pond.
I'm obviously a very mature individual.

First time playing. I bare knew anything, besides the fact that you had to survive. I didn't know the differences between threats and non threats. I just ran straight at a Creeper, because I wasn't entirely sure what it was.
(This was not my first time playing Minecraft)
I was really angry at a skeleton who shot me while I was building my house on my survival world, so I got my bow and shot the skeleton. Upon killing him, I thought to myself: Hahaha take that, stupid. I turn around and a new skeleton finishes me off, depleting my last half-heart and causing me to ragequit.
Painful reminder: As soon as I got back on, since I clicked on title screen when I died, it said "you died!" on the screen once the world was fully loaded. Then I ragequit again. XD
