Everyone has their least favorite block, the one they would throw a shulker box into lava just to get rid of it. For Iskall85, it's diorite. For IBXtoycat, it's gravel. I've seen a lot of people who absolutely loathe granite. So which block would you rather toss in lava than use in a build?
For me, it would have to be the coal block. It's such an ugly color. If I want to have a black block, I'll use black concrete or obsidian. I'll make blocks to free up space (maybe) or to fuel my furnaces, but I'll toss a stack of diamonds into lava before using it in a build.
Diorite. I use it to make andesite, but I don't use it in builds.
When I start a new base I usually pick a block palette before I begin. How good a block looks in a build depends entirely on what other blocks surround it and mix with it. In the right environment any block (except diorite!) can look good.
I would probably burn an Obsidian block, for the sake of going to the Nether. As for which block(s) I would throw into lava... Any that are renewable, I think.
I am ok with about any block, but diorite/andesite/granite I always use in polished variety. Especially with higher res faithful texture pack, they don't look too bad.
I do kinda dislike the jungle wood color.
Netherrack is kinda what you expect in a biome called "Hell". And it is great for making fireplaces and any other permanent fire designs.
Gravel is THE block for getting down from high spots in the Nether.

For me, it's anything that has the word acacia attached to it. Lucky, I do not have to burn it because, well, sticks. Hey it's fine in full tree form, but once you chop it... sticks.
I think acacia has its own special block palette that works for it. It's a very neich color. I love it in some builds, but not so much in others. The gray color of the bark is quite nice, though.

As annoying as gravel is when mining, and as ugly as granite is, I'd also have to pick diorite.

Granite, Acacia planks, or Orange wool. The color orange is rather disgusting in my opinion.
granite the ugliest block ever
I can find uses for polished granite as an accent, but I would have to say that I really hate the regular block.
I can't say gravel because as annoying as it is, you need it for making concrete.
RIP emerald block
I have 2 least favorite blocks.

Netherrack. It could have been like some cellular lava stone but no, it's like a bunch of intestines gone through a blender. Bon Apetit MoFoz.
That texture is too horrible. (in my opinion)

Horrible Blocks in my Opinion

I don't hate any block, really.
If I don't like the look of it, I'll find alternate uses for it, or just not use it at all and keep it in storage.

All blocks are needed.

Defiantly agree, acacia wood is just so ugly.
I like acacia wood tbh.

For me, diorite and granite.
Been making caves look ugly since 2014.
