So guys yesterday i was leaving my house to find chickens to make a chicken coop ( my place is in the mountains so it doesn't have chickens ) so i went pretty far and found some chicks but lost my way home , i've been wondering around for 4 hours and haven't found it yet , is there some kind of cheat that you can teleport or switch to creative and swicth it back ? ( i don't have commands on my world ) I have a compass but my house is very far away from original spawn , i have three diamonds and found my first (3) emerald because i fell into a revine while looking my way home so i can't really die and spawn back in my bed now , if you guys can help than thanks alot , now i'm gonna get back to minecraft and go looking for mah house.
Do exactly what maze craft said. On top of writing down the X and Z coordinates of your chest, write down the X Z coordinates of your house/home base/anything you want to find again. You'll never get lost again.
Open the world to LAN and put cheats on that way. Then use /gamemode 1 (/gamemode 0 to put you back into survival), or use /tp x y z if you know the coordinates of your house.
If he knew the co-ords of his house, he probably wouldn't have any problem.
Make a chest and deposit all your items in it. Press F3 and write down your coordinates. Kill yourself and you will respawn by your bed. If you have no bed, you'll respawn in the place where you started the world.
Then take some gear and go for the chest.
Also, write down the co-ords of your base so you can get back, and for future reference if you ever get lost again.
If you built near your original spawn point make a compass and it would lead you to your spawn point. Then you remember how you got to where you built your house.
Make a chest and deposit all your items in it. Press F3 and write down your coordinates. Kill yourself and you will respawn by your bed. If you have no bed, you'll respawn in the place where you started the world.
Then take some gear and go for the chest.
This user here a very wise person. I usually follow the compass to spawn and then try tracing my steps back from there, but that's very unreliable.
Now that I know about this trick, I'm going to have a lot less trouble finding my way back when I get lost.
