Title says all, i suck at building, especially in survival and i wanted to know how i could improve my house and make it look nicer, or perhaps some suggestions of what i should even build in this house...
The Box that i live in as seen from the hill it's build nearby
Who needs physics?
My front entrance with a terrible garden that i'll be removing soon (Oak blocks aren't staying i needed them to get to my roof for when i work on a roof...)
6. Windows. (not a full block either, use panes). Light blue or blue stained glass would look great. Easy to do since you can get lapis fairly easily.
7. Since the body is wood, I would recommend a brick stair roof. Use some of that clay in the water right below your house to get clay and break it down into brick. Or stone brick stairs would be good too. EG: Bake cobblestone in an oven to get stone, then make stone bricks, then stone brick stairs.
8. Darker wood for the framing, use spruce or dark oak wood upside down and right side up along the base and top to indent and break up that flat wall.
You can do amazing things with upside down stair blocks.
With full logs. You have used arcadia planks for the build, you need a wood log to break it up on each end or on either side of the doors and or windows. See the logs I have used.
It is all about different colors and placing logs on top of upside down stair blocks, or on each end of your building to frame it.
Specific advice? I would pick a contrasting color to do the corners and doorway. I liked the look of your fireplace in contrast to the acacia. Maybe use smooth stone or polished andesite. Concrete could look good if you have a concrete mixer. Black is very striking and dark as the void, almost. If you're looking for a more colorful option, I feel like cyan is a good contrast to acacia as well. For the roof, I like slabs, because stairs make a really, really tall roof for a building that size. That isn't always the goal.
Inside, I would add a little detailing like Weasle said. But you may want it to match the outside.
Architecturally, you might find it helpful to look at pictures of real-life structures. We can do all sorts of insane feats in Minecraft so that all sorts of crazy buildings are possible. You could even make the neighbor's house from Hello Neighbor! Looking at other examples can help you decide what to do with your house.
If you are planning on having fire in the fireplace you'll need to replace the floor and ceiling with something inflammable at least 2 blocks out from above and below the fire.
Designwise, my personal opinion is that the house looks unsupported.
If it were built in real life you seem to have one corner totally unsupported, one supported by a 1 block wide dirt ledge, one held up by the porch which would put a lot of stress on it and one corner with a thin wooden pillar.
It would certainly be possible to build IRL using hidden steal beams and if you like the look then certainly go for it, personally I would prefer something with more visible support.
Maybe Iron pillars or 2X2 stone brick, netherbrick or brick pillars in all 4 corners (the dirt corner would only need a 1-2 block high "pillar").
And maybe either pillars in the middles of the long sides or a supporting iron or stone brick frame under the house.
Here's a house I built for some tagged witches. I like to use steps/slabs for the roof so you can make sloping roofs. I'd pick two colour materials than can be crafted in slabs/steps and use that.

Main room...
Second room with back door, and a WIP fireplace
Overview.
1. Stairs, upside down and other wise.
2. A triangle roof.
3. Anything to make the walls not flat.
4. Different materials just to start.
5. Slabs along places.

Green = Logs, to frame the walls and (provide support) it looks good. trust me.
Blue = upside down birch stairs to break up the square, it looks like its supporting the top, it will look great trust me.

I'm not much of a builder myself... but I made a house using a very simple building trick I think you could use..
It's basically just a rectangle with fancy walls.
The fancy walls are just regular windows with acacia leaves and slabs on the outside.
If you are planning on having fire in the fireplace you'll need to replace the floor and ceiling with something inflammable at least 2 blocks out from above and below the fire.

Just testing.

Ah, I'd forgotten about that. :-)
