I have been wanting to use my chest full of redstone but I don't have any ideas.. I know how to make the simple redstone stuff but im out of ideas. any redstone creation suggestions are appreciated thanks
The last couple of fun redstone creations I have built were:
-A fully automatic melon and pumpkin farm with a collection system and a delivery system to one of my underground storage rooms.
-A fully automatic chicken breeder. Source chickens lay eggs on hoppers that feed to dispensers that activate a clock that fires the dispensers until they are empty which deactivates the clock.
-Paths that light up while there is just enough daylight left to prevent zombie spawns and that turn off in the morning when the same light level returns.
You could Zombie-proof a village and use up a lot of redstone that way, put a sticky-piston beneath the stairs of each house and wire them together using redstone and repeaters. Bring your wiring back to a small blockhouse with about 100 repeaters all set to maximum delay strung together in a looping multi-level chain inside. Put a daylight sensor on the roof of the blockhouse and bring the redstone inside thru the roof to a NOT gate block with a redstone torch on it. Connect the wiring from the block in front of the NOT gate torch to the chain of repeaters and your done.
When the sun goes down and the signal from the daylight sensor stops, the redstone torch on the NOT gate block will light, powering the delay repeaters. After about a minute when the final delay repeater lights it will send a signal to the sticky pistons and raise all the steps in the village up in front of the bottom half of the doors. The delay is to make sure all the villagers have plenty of time to get into their houses.
In the morning the reverse happens and about a minute after the daylight sensor first gets sunlight the stairs will all lower, this keeps the villagers in their houses until after the zombies have burned. Say goodbye to worrying about Zombie sieges...
(Technically this is simple, labor wise not so much. )
One thing I always build at any base is an adjustable enchanting room. A couple of simple controls allows me to set exactly how many bookcases are near my enchanting table.
I also have a couple of ideas for an automatic brewing stand, but my current world is relatively recent, and I haven't found a Nether Fortress yet.
I also have an idea for a "drawbridge" that's a little more substantial than a one block high walkway rising up from a moat that's one block deep.
