You know that time when you wake up and a creeper is at your door and blows up?
To solve this problem, an average player would light up the area around the house, right?
BORING
If you have time, go tame, oh maybe a couple hundred cats.
Make a wall two blocks high, then leave a space in between one block wide
Then surround that by another wall. Put all the cats in between
Please try it and see if it works, remember to post pictures! (Optional)
Maybe a whole ring of creepers will surround your house, lol.

Agent Phlea- Amazing things come in tiny packages...
With my sword of overpowered enchantments, I send creepers flying about 20 meters into the air. 2 hit kill not including fall damage. Creepers aren't a problem for the most part, and if worst comes to worst, I made a lava moat around my house once...
Creepers aren't really a problem for me either but a good creeper shield would be to make a mod that has cats fly in circles around you so you would be protected from the creeper. Or make a totally messed up mod where you kill ocelots, take their skin, and make cat armor that repels creepers.
This.
I blew off some 20 fishes and didn't even get a single one tamed.
Why use cats when you can use lava? It's more faithful than a cat, and can't be "killed" only "blocked." I tried both and spammed creepers to test how well they worked, and a good moat of creeper-eating lava worked much better than a circle of cats.
If nothing is impossible, my challenge for you is to create something that's impossible.

Lol. MY main defence is a two block high arrow dispenser wall that can be put into the ground for storage. Gotta love Redstone! But ya the anti-creeper/cat stuff is awesome. I like the Cat Eye Potion most of all.
Lava is more dangerous than creepers. I recommend a fence, cobblestone wall, or a trench around your base so any creepers can't get close.
Yes it is, but if you are careful or use a fence around the inside of the moat with a carefully placed redstone-bridge (can be submerged in the lava via use of sticky pistons) it not only keeps creepers out with ease, but it keeps out almost anything except for endermen. Spiders could get in (in theory) but I have yet to see it happen.

P.S. It's called "cheating".
Edit: Can't put pics, won't work.
Here is what happened.
The walls were made.
All I could tame were 5 out of 30 ocelots...
Ready to fight the creepers.
My cats either sat or ran to me.
The cats did nothing.
That just brought pussycat to a whole nother level.
This.
I blew off some 20 fishes and didn't even get a single one tamed.
"No"
Ikr. I don't even bother with them.

I agree. I played my current world for around 4 months already and I have only 51 cats.
Actually, I kinda like this idea... cat armor...
