I quit playing my brother cause he was just being mean, bossy, and calling me the stupid and doesn't know how to play Minecraft. When I made a mistake by not bring the flint and steal into the Nether with us and a Ghast deactivated the portal, and blamed me over it. So I just quit playing with him and he's all on his own in the Nether. Since I know more about the Nether then he does and have an idea where the Nether warts are, me quitting our file made him have to figure out where they are on his own.
I'm glad that I can always come here and the Wiki if I ever a question or something and you guys can offer advice when I need one.
It's a difficult decision. Most mods aren't SMP compatible, so a lot of the best mods will be single player only. However, the power of Bukkit and things like mcMMO, Towny, Factions, etc. give some good credit to SMP.
Single player is something that I play when I find a cool mod, and I just want to try it out. For example, I recently tried Pixelmon. Nothing committing, just 2 hours or so on a world playing with Pokemon in Minecraft.
However, SMP is something that I play and get addicted to, and try to master. When you're playing against Creepers and Zombies it's not super hard, but playing against other people can get difficult. I'll occasionally find a cool server (PvP, Towns, Factions, whatever really.) and get addicted and master that server, then get bored.
SSP is something that I tend to play in between servers.
Recently I've been playing SSP survival in Feed The Beast, mainly because I don't want to bother finding a server where I think my items will be safe, plus the lag that I believe is common with the mod pack + servers.
I was a purely solo player. SSP only. Then I got lonely and bored always playing by myself. So I got brave and joined a multiplayer server.
Then the game was suddenly fun again. I could chat with people and see what other people had built.
But then I realized that the server I was on had done something to mob spawning. Or else mob spawning doesn't work the same in SMP as it does in SSP. Because I never see any mobs. It's like playing on peaceful mode. Ghasts are gone once I kill em, and I think I've killed em all. My slime farm doesn't work cause even tho I know a slime spawned in that chunk once, I've never seen another spawn in the big slime farm I dug out, even tho I lit up all my caves, blah blah. I'm now finding SMP to be very boring too.
Oh, and they disabled The End because they said it got griefed and it's way too small of an area. So I feel like I can't even finish the game (I've never been to The End before) on SMP.
Then today I lost my entire suit of armor and my diamond sword during an "invasion" event.
I'm kinda thinking that I'm just gonna go back to being lonely and play SSP. Or maybe just stop playing the game until I get some desire back.
