I guess you need a little serious talking... okey dokey lokey, I'll get a grip for a sec. I'd talk about all the different ways players have found to turn Minecraft into a game with completely different objectives. Y'know, all those emergent phenomena like spleef and Hunger Games (or is it officially Survival Games now?) and prison servers. Also Towny politics if anyone actually uses it like that, and Factions if my research turned up enough fundamental differences between that and normal PvP. Maybe a sideline into how player and admin dynamics have adapted to the prevalence and relative impunity of hackers (Nodus, X-ray and such).
The basic theme I'm aiming for here is the way Minecraft is such a simple game with such firm yet loosely defined goals (gain achievements, kill Ender Dragon, swag), yet to a huge number of online players those goals not only don't matter, they've defined their own and even made plugins to help. With a secondary theme of how players adapt to prevalent behavior of other players, wanted and unwanted. If you're actually going to give this speech, be sure to have a few short video clips and/or at least some still images to explain. Just don't overdo it, your audience wants just enough to get a good mental picture, not to watch a feature film about it.

"Sometimes, I just wanna give up, say 'I'm done with this mess' and go to bed. But you know what; you can't shrug off your responsibilities. You got to pull yourself up and meet the challenges head on. That's the only way you're gonna get ahead in life."
Depends on the audience and the time limit and stuff. If you're speeching for your sixth grade classmates, make it fun and tell stories. Don't forget to have a chart with a picture of a creeper, and any other critters they've never heard of.
A speech about Minecraft? That could go on for hours. . . I mean, you'd have to talk about everything from punching your first tree to killing the Ender Dragon, and perhaps even the wither. Sure, you could leave out making unimportant things such as NPC villages, and you could also leave out TNT, but where's the fun in that? If you're going to make a speech about Minecraft you'd have to find a way to express the fact that you can do whatever you wanna do, regardless of anything. Sure, there's a few restrictions, but I mean, come on. So before you do a speech on Minecraft, you have to be able to explain the explainable, the human imagination, because that's all Minecaft is.
Or you could do exactly what I did and unintentionally make a speech about Minecraft wile trying to explain how difficult it is to make a speech about Minecraft. XD

Minecraft is awesome. THE END
