The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
I was walking through the forest when I found a beautiful pink pig. I fell in love with it instantly, so I got it to follow me into my house.
We did everything together. We chopped down trees, mined coal, and even bred other animals.
Eventually, the pig and I decided to get married. We built a church together, and even invited all the villagers in the nearby village. We both stood at the altar, proud and excited. "Do you, SquareWave, take this pig to be your lawfully wedded wife?" asked the villager priest.
"I do," I said.
"I pronounce you both husband and wife."
Then we were married. Not just married, but happily married.
Until I discovered the dark secret behind the pig. Apparently she was cheating on me the whole time.
Then I remembered... the animal breeding...
it was all my fault.
I guess I should have seen it coming, because when the pig was asked if she would take me as her lawfully wedded husband, instead of "I do," she said "I suppose."
Oh well, she wasn't very talkative anyway.

Need some video game music? I can help you with that.
I once had a mine down a ravine, and there was some lava flow around. To counter potential falls and make sure I wouldn't do a stupid thing *sigh*, to prevent finger slips/incorrect jumps/holding W too long, I built a tiny, 1-block ledge around the top of the ladder that brought me down. For the record, this wall-ledge thing had about 2 or 3 blocks of air space above, and was unfortunately built near places I couldn't really bother to reach to light up; roughly at the same y coord as dark ledges.
Still, it went fine. I mined, found diamonds, moved between my bases, etc. One day, I was going up after a nice haul, and heard a skeleton rattling around the ledge. Thought I'd kill him, so I jumped on my ledge.
The skeleton fired and knocked me. Into the laval flow. I lost my inventory, including a bunch of diamonds.
I was so mad that I straight-up deleted the world.

I thought the inventory saves on toomanyitems were game save slots, so when one of my friends was over I clicked "save" then we proceeded to take turns building random stuff out of everything I had. By the end of it we were using creative mode to try out all the planes in the planes mod, and finished off by using the bomber on my house and farm and all of our buildings.
When I clicked "load" nothing happened. I thought "huh" and then restarted the game, still nothing. It took both of us a second to realize what happened and he just started laughing at me.
If you had any iron with you, you could’ve easily created some new flint and steel by mining some convenient gravel in the nether.
Or you could just get another ghast to shoot the portal again. And you can get all the ingredients to craft a fire-charge (gunpowder from ghasts, coal from wither skeletons and blaze powder from blaze rods/blazes). Or you can put lava and wood next to the portal. You can find iron, and even flint & steel in nether fortress loot chests. Lots of different ways to relight a portal in the nether.
Let's see, what's my dumb story? So many to choose from...
When I started a new world in 1.10.2, I needed lots of green die for a project, so I built an automated cactus farm and let it process for a while. Then one day I went to check on the progress of the farm and found stacks and stacks of cactus. I thought, great! But then I realized I could not remember what I needed all that green die for.
I'm still playing that world, and to this day I still can't remember.
A few months ago I finished exploring my first woodland mansion. Happily returning home, my mom called me. When I came back to finish flying back home I accidentally threw my diamond sword... Note I was quite high in the air so I didn't use up more fireworks for my elytra.
It took me a few seconds to realize it's gone and I yelled "NO" and I dive-bombed into an island trying to find it... and I didn't have a totem in my off hand... So yea...
