there is a viewer / concept of minecraft called MineDroid for android. (ive been helping out on it.)
it runs better then my netbook on a VERY low end phone without proper graphics, and runs beautifully on a decent phone.
you can help out or play around with HERE ---> http://code.google.com/p/minedroid/ <---
gets a good fps on a decent phone but squeezes out about 5-15 fps on my cheap phone.
description of MineDroid:
a viewer / concept design for Minecraft that supports using your own 1.3 beta levels, temporarily building and destroying blocks, sensor steering, crouch jump, ghost mode / fly mode, many blocks, more features to come.
