Hi all!
I was thinking of efficient ways to make a fully-modular enchantment room, so I could get specific enchantments (specifically feather falling) in a cooler way than just placing torches. So I came up with this!
It is compact, relatively cheap, and doesn't have to use any sticky pistons; however you can compact is slightly more by using sticky pistons.
It is based on the fact that bookshelves require a direct line of sight to the enchantment table in order for it to have any effect, and by extending a regular piston in front of the bookshelves, you are able to "disable" a book shelf.
You have 6 different controls:
+2 levels
+4 levels
+6 levels
+6 levels
+6 levels
+6 levels
By using combinations of these, you can get any enchantment level. Click the spoiler to see how to get each level:
Lv 30 - All down
Lv 28 - +2 up
Lv 26 - +4 up
Lv 24 - +6 up OR +2 & +4 up
Lv 22 - +6 & +2
Lv 20 - +6 & +4
Lv 18 - +6 & +6 OR +6 & +2 & +4
Lv 16 - +6 & +6 & +2
Lv 14 - +6 & +6 & +4
Lv 12 - +6 & +6 & +6 OR +6 & +6 & +2 & +4
Lv 10 - +6 & +6 & +6 & +2
Anything below level 10, all the levels jump around, so you'll have to work for the level you want for a bit.
Here is a video I made on how it works and how to build it, both the non-sticky piston version and the sticky piston version. It is my first video, so I apologize for lack in quality or stuttering.
might build this on my world...Once i make one... : D
