Today I will be explaining my super simple pearl farm!
This farm is design to be quick and easy to make right after your first dragon kill. It will give you tons of pearls that you can use to explore the End Islands!
After killing the dragon you want to pick up any pearls that are from enderman that died to the dragon. Then you want to remove the dragon egg from the exit portal (XEP). Then drop 3 falling sand into the XEP. Then go to spawn and where there is the sand put a chest with hopper above it. Above that stack up 45blocks and place in an open fence gate in the sky above spawn. Then remove your tower stack of blocks and goto the End's XEP again. There you want to build a cage above the XEP bedrock pillar and then use the ender pearls to tp in the cage until a endermite spawns. Once it spawns you must nametag it and then you can remove the cage around it without bumping it off. Then stack up to Y185 above the XEP and AFK there for 1-4 min. Afterwards you can jump down into the XEP and goto spawn and collect tons of pearls!
This whole farm can be made in less than 5min and it gives you a crazy amount of pearls! If you want to understand how it works in more depth I linked the video of it.
Those are some insane numbers for mob drops, and highly efficient as it goes right to the overworld.
Can you make a simple piston extrusion to turn it into an xp farm?
That would work but you would need to keep traveling back to the end to spawn more and you would risk crashing your world with entities which could corrupt it. It's got some serious risks versus the alternatives.
This is really clever (though I just built my Ender Ender 3.0) and I wanted to see if I can clarify a little about the mechanics...
Is the idea that mobs that go through the exit portal will always spawn on the highest block at the world spawn (which in this case is the gate, which they promptly fall through because it's open) but the player will spawn in a random location in a particular radius around the world spawn, or in a bed?

Not mobs specifically. If you drop blocks through the end exit portal they all land on the world spawn point. Try it with some sand or gravel. It all stacks on the world spawn block. It's only the player that's different.
You have to build it above ground and open to the sky at the top, because the Endermen who fall through the end exit portal enter the overworld on the highest block above spawn. That block is the fence gate in this farm design.
Well, recently I was AFK in The End and it started raining in the overworld, and Endermen teleport when hit by rain, and the only dry place to teleport to was my underground base! So after I was AFK for several minutes I hopped off the platform, down through the exit portal, and when I returned to my base it was filled with Endermen!
Seriously, they were so thick I could not see through them in some rooms!
Took a while to clear them all out. I suppose I could have left the area and let them despawn... but where's the fun in that?
Now I have to head over to my Guardian farm for some XP to mend my aching armor (which, fortunately, has Mending).
Not really sure how to fix the rain thing. You can't put a roof over it or the Endermen will spawn on the roof.

mcedit that chunk to be desert or savannah. Doing it the legit way, you'd have to start a new world that has such a biome where you want it and rebuild your base.
Hello there, Ray here!

Ray you crazy genius, bringing mass amounts of ender pearls to the masses.
Honestly it seems silly that Mojang has a portal mechanic that is applied to the player, but not to mobs that travel through the portal.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
Wow! That's awesome! Thanks for sharing.
That's ridiculous! What a great way to get ender pearls early on!
(Also love your outro)
The signature is a lost art.

I did find one problem with this farm.
