Hey, do you guys think that a piston drawbridge would be a good idea, because my friend in my server has a house about 30 blocks out to sea, and I was thinking of making him a drawbridge where the pistons (not sticky pistons) were all 1 block underwater, and with the push of a lever, they all would extend out of the water and act as a narrow bridge. It seems like it might be a waste of iron, but what do you guys think?
He just meant that he won't put a block on top of them (I think)
Yeah, thats exactly what I meant. The piston arms would be the bridge, and you would walk on the extended pistons themselves.
If it's only 30 blocks it isn't much. 30 iron is easy to collect and doesn't take a lot of time
You could always put them two blocks underwater, and place sand on top of them. Saying this only because first two posts thought it would be dispensable.
This is a better idea than walking on the pistons themselves.
I would recommend putting the pistons one deeper and putting sand on top of them. That way it looks more natural and no need for sticky pistons as the sand will just fall back down.
Also if you leave a row of water source blocks by the shore covered by slabs, when the pistons are down the water should replicate across making the water smooth again.
Wiring them together is what will be a bit of a pain.
Computer Specs: 4GB 1333 Mhz DDR3 RAM- 320GB 5400RPM Hard Drive- Dual Core Intel Core i5 2415M @2.3 Ghz- Intel HD 3000 Graphics- Only $1200! Yeah, I got a Mac, because I'm stoopid.Scratch that: Intel i5 2500k, 1TB 7200RPM Seagate Barracuda, Gigabyte Z68-D3H-B3, 8GB 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM, Radeon HD 6850, Running OSX.He said one block underwater. So if he does this.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
