Hey Forum viewers! I just bought Minecraft today and I've got to say that this is a really addicting game! So I decided to make a forum account and make posts/questions and all that crap.. P:
But, there are also some things in Minecraft that freaks you out, like Endermen.
Here was my first encounter with them:
When I was making a house with some cobblestone and wood at night I noticed one block was missing near the door, I looked around and saw a really tall black creature with purple eyes and a hella scary moan, he was holding my stone block so I decided to get it back by killing him. But something unfortunate happened, I stared at it and it started to make a weird sound that really creeped me out, so I tried to charge at it, but when I did, it disappeared. Hence another weird sound filled my ears and I turned around, the Enderman was at my back! I hit it a few times since it kept on teleporting and finally, it killed me. I awoke in my home and luckily I got my stuff back before it despawned. And then I looked around, the Enderman was nowhere in sight. :blink.gif:
Well, that's my story! What about you? Tell me your Enderman encounters by commenting below! :laugh.gif:
As odd as this sounds...I climbed down my ladder into my basement/quarry room and opened a door to the main quarry area and there it was! An Enderman was moving a block of stone...It was a little odd to think there was one almost right under my house...Anywho, I did not look it in the face and went back into the actual basement under my house. A minute later I went back and it was gone.
That's my story...I couldn't believe it was there so quickly after I started this particular survival mode. I was relatively excited. The only other thing I've seen down there was a zombie, but that's really no big deal.
I've got a couple lol. One time, I was using TNT to clear out a large room for a mob trap. I dug all the tunnels and placed tnt in properly. I set up the wiring, and placed a lever a good distance away, with a couple repeaters. I flipped the lever, and I heard a door open. Wtf? I went around the corner, and an endermen had teleported in. He had picked up the block under some redstone, breaking the wire, then placed it down in a position that powered a nearby door. Those guys are starting to understand redstone circuitry! D:
Another time, in 1.8.1, I had just gone mining, and crafted a diamond block. I set it down on a pedestal for decoration. About 5 minutes later, I came back, and it was gone. Outside my window was an Enderman holding a diamond block. I started to head outside to follow him until he set it down, but then he teleported away, probably into a cave. :dry.gif: About a week later, I found a diamond block sitting just outside a dungeon.
Last story, again in 1.8.1, I had come back to my house to find a block of gold ore sitting on my roof. Maybe it was a peace offering from the endermen. :biggrin.gif:
I got caught out in the desert at night far from home. So I made a temporary cactus wall to hide behind. I saw my first Enderman that night and played peekaboo getting him to telport nearer and nearer.
Just as he was about to teleport into the cactus and die I heard that unmistakable ssssssss, and we were both blown to tiny pieces.
I had built a dirt staircase to try and get grass to grow on my roof garden. That shiz takes foreeever... Anyway, I went underground for quite a while and came back up fo find that the grass only grew 2 steps up because the third was missing... I have a good enough idea of what mob caused that!
Ah, and I've put them in minecarts! That's an interesting story. I had built a small loop of track to have fun with luring mobs into minecarts. Did you know endermen can't teleport at all if they're in a minecart? I do, now. When the sun came up, the poor thing was trying very hard to get out, but all it was doing was leaving trails of purple in random directions as it looped around the track. Then I killed it.
Oh. They've teleported in my house, too. During rain. There aren't many trees or overhangs around my house, and my mine is only 1x2 wiith no caves for a distance, so this happens often. Not sure why, but when that happens I can never bring myself to kill them. Same like if I find a spider during the day, or a tiny slime in my mine. Besides, if I tryed to hit the dang thing it'd just teleport outside and drown in the rain.
Stupid endermen teleport in your house when it rains!
I honestly love it when that happens. I don't mind having a peaceful Enderman coming in for shelter from the rain. At one point, 3 of them had teleported into my house at the same time. I tossed a few loafs of bread on my table for them, then went back to my mine. :biggrin.gif:
Not really a funny story, but I did notice a couple things about hunting Endermen last night:
1) Hunting them in the woods is a stupid waste of time. Find yourself a desert and use a quickness potion and you'll find tons.
2) Fire Aspect enchant is really nice on Endermen. I used to think it was useless because you can kill monsters in a few hits anyway, but I got it on a diamond sword last night and realized that after you hit the Enderman the first time, he can port around all he wants, but he's still on fire! Which makes him a) die in about two hits, and :cool.gif: really easy to find after he ports.
My first encounter was when he spawned in the court on my server. He stole some books, some chairs and some other things.
He then broke the wall, put down the wood and made a sofa outside. And then i poured water on him :3

I dont remember my first encounter very well but im pretty sure it was in 1.8.1 I had literally started playing an hour before or so and i had gone into a natural (very small) cave and saw one in the distance. not thinking twice i shot it with an arrow like twice and i think it was dead after that. not long after did i find out that they were usually hard to kill. but they were scary. lol
I was leaving my converted cave of a house and he was standing at the top of the stairs inside the door. I didn't notice him until I was running into him, and it startled me so badly I jumped around and slapped him until he teleported out and left me alone (it was morning, fortunately)
I was swimming around in a river. Saw an enderman. Stared it down. looked away. It teleported right next to me. I SPAZZED OUT!

If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens. if i helped press the + :D!
I saw 3 endermen in a group, we had a party. :biggrin.gif:
Endermen are my favorite mob... we always have parties. if i need an enderpearl from them i just ask them. i can speak their language ya know. XD
Once I was building my house at night and it was snowing. Things were going real great. I tried going into my basement to get some supplys. For some reason an enderman was there and I left too scared to fight it. Its still down there now. I dont know how it got there and I really dont care. I just hope it gets killed by the pool of lava I left their for some reason or just leaves.Honestly these guys **** me off. I want to kill them all.
I had this really nice house built into the side of a hill, right on the ocean. I dug a small network of rooms, with varying ceiling heights, and my bedroom just happened to be 4 blocks high. I awoke to purple sparkles, and ran screaming out of my bedroom into the two block high corridor. The enderman was trapped, because it was rainy outside, and he could not get into the small corridor. He stayed there all day, but eventually I had to kill him because he was tearing down my paintings. I love endermen.

I lived in a small house in the woods, and I was punching a tree. I destroyed the bottom block and just saw these long, black legs. I had no idea what it was, so I ran and hid in my house.
