I'm going to go straight to the point I HATE the hunger bar. I don't know about you but I feel like its more of an annoyance then a good addition to the game I list a couple of reason why i think that.
1. Damage by Hunger- I hate the fact that hunger can kill you. I can't tell you how many times I have gone on a huge mining expdition and then go through a big dungeon battle and then DIE because it just happen to have not ate a peace of food in a while. I don't get why that has to happen I mean sure it does make the game realistic but this is Minecraft it shouldn't be realistic. I mean there is a portal that you go through to kill a huge ender dragon yet we still have to worry about eating bread.
2. Slow health regeneration- Even when you still eat food it takes a decent bit of food to fill you hunger bar then it still takes awhile for all of the health that you lost to regenerate. This a pretty big bother to survival players because in the middle of battle or dangerous situations they can't wait for their health to regenerate. We need an instant addition of health so we can keep doing what we need to do.
3. Food- As Minecraft gets more updates it starts to become harder work to grow food and find food. I don't know about you but I have a huge farm and its hard to work that farm. As of the recent update I had to build a lava moat around my farm and then a water moat to stop that lava from setting my crops on fire. All of that to stop things from breaking into my farm. All through that process I died several times from hunger because I was playing for so long.
I don't know if anyone has any opposition towards my position and if you didn't like my other posts thats your choice but I'm just trying to get my voice heard and maybe making a difference.
got kind of sick of it too. I reverted back to alpha. I don't think I will ever get pissed off at alpha. Oh BTW, there is a no hunger mod which takes out the hunger bar. And if you want to revert back to an earlier stage in minecraft, I use MCNostalgia, which is probably the most easiest way to change your minecraft.jar to an earlier time.
I agree with #2, and #3 when starting a world, but otherwise, it is good. #3 is true when starting a world. In my first world, I just let myself die many times over, but once you find melons, you're set for life. I just start a wheat farm, unless I have animals all around me.
How is it hard to find food? Bread, cake, cookies, melon, mushroom stew, chicken, steak, porkchop, fish, and apples. Most of those things are extremely easy to get.
People wanted something to make Survival harder and they got the hunger bar. From your complaining, it sounds like it's doing exactly that, making the game harder.
Food is astoundingly easy to acquire. I live out in an ocean biome where no animals spawn, so I have to make do with a small wheat farm. I am currently building a storage facility to store the huge amount of wheat I have harvested. Just keep a half or quarter stack of bread in your inventory, and you won't ever have a problem. The point of the hunger bar is to test your ability to manage resources and make combat more challenging, and you seem to be failing that test.
If you don't like the hunger bar than go back to 1.7_3 Beta.
shhh..... hear that?....I think that's the sound of no progress...

Are youbored of minecraft? It's not the new features. I'll give you a hint:It's the terrain generation. Go play a map generated in 1.7.3 or earlier, then tell me you don't agree.
For number one : It's incredibly easy to acquire food, the only time it's remotely difficult is immediately after starting the game
For number two : Potion Of Health, seriously how did this one not come up? Instantly recovers health, up to I think 7 hearts after the addition of glowstone.
For number three : Sounds like a designer problem to me. I can get all of my wheat simply with a lever, and I can get all of my melons with a pressure plate (could easily be a lever or button) Mobs never disturb these things.

Use the tools available to you and you should see the issues you raised go away.
1. Hunger can't kill you. Can only drop you to .5 hearts. You should eat to keep full anyway, so you start regenerating health as soon as you take damage.
2. Potions offer of source of instant health and rapid health regeneration over time. Golden apples offer a short rapid regen.
With iron armor on the basic regen rate is ample to fight many mobs at once. Iron armor should take a night or two tops to get.
3. Most updates make the game easier. There are many more types of food available to be farmed than in the beta. Build some walls and farming will be 100% safe. Or light up the area to keep hostiles away... or do both walls and light.

You're little wrong here.
Hunger kills you on hard mode. Hunger only drops you to .5 on normal. And it only drops you to 5 hearts on easy.
Before the update, I had to take down five inventory slots worth of bread into caves. I could heal a total of ~12.5 hearts before returning to the surface. Now, I take one stack of sixty-four bread down. My HP stays full the entire time- even as I take large amounts of damage time and time again- and I barely use half of it.
It has made the game far easier and encourages people to take risks, as they do not have to worry about how much damage they will take from making a long jump or rushing into a dangerous spot.
It is so annoying. I had a couple diamond ore, my health started decreasing, I look behind me, I was wondering what was happening. Then it hit me, my health bar. It's annoying
My biggest problem with the hunger bar is that I forget to eat, but that's user error not minecraft. Food is indeed easy to get especially now that rotten flesh doesn't poison you. It can increase the hunger rate, but as one normally slaughters zombies by the horde, rotten flesh is plentuous. I can just use rotten flesh as my main food supply, and I still can't keep up with the rate at which I gather it. (Could be the spawner next to my house though.)
One tip for starting out in the beginning if you have a limited supply of food i find it actually better to keep yourself low on hunger and fill it up once it gets to half since you won't be fighting mobs in the first couple nights if you tuck away into your house. Before hunger came out i was actually on the side for not liking it but i can say it does have lots of benefits.
it restores your health, allows for us to run but not forever,
better pvp(even though this is debatable i can say it is better to have these shorter battles than just one that lasts forever because someone has 5 mush stews on them.),
also it allows you to eat food without having to waste it like always being one heart down but not wanting to waste a porkchop,
Hunger did give us the stacked food which is tons better than filling your inventory with food.
Also golden apples heal health and hunger. They should make those a little bit stronger since they nerfed the heck out of them.
Melons seeds are hard to find, find 2 type and mushroom and your done, infinite food source. What i dont like about the hunger is how quickly it drops when you kill mobs vs mining.
Honestly, Hunger adds a challenge, and benefits to Survival.
The Challenge part being you want to keep it filled to avoid taking damage over time.
The Benefits part being stackable foods (With the exception of Mushroom stew) and slow Health Regeneration while it's at 90% or more (as I hear).
Of course, if you can't handle the challenge part...
PLAY ON PEACEFUL!
