I think it's kinda smart. Being in the lava, you can't get close and melee attack it with your sword (although, you could still hit it with your bow).

it isn't stupid, its being smart so you can't hit it, and its harder to shoot with bow (they don't burn)

It's taking a bath, seriously, give it some privacy.

Seeing how they're invulnerable to lava, how is this stupid?

I was like "Lol yeah that ghast is an idiot." But then I remembered they're immune to lava and was like "Wow that's brilliant."

In fairness, Ghasts do DROWN in lava, which that Ghast is probably doing right now.
