When i saw "I wish I could eat squid" I thought you were insane, until I realized the concept. I do too actually! But one question, how to breathe in a underwater house???
Living underwater is pointless unless something more was added underwater,But if you could eat squid they would actually be USEFULL for a change :biggrin.gif:

I would have to disagree. Living underwater has the added benefit of protection from mobs. Never had a creeper explode on me when I swam out of my underwater house. Not to mention if you build far enough away from land mob traps will work regardless of weather its day or night. But on topic squids dropping food would make it alot easier to start in ocean biomes. So I do as well
I think this would be great so you can live underwater.
Fried calamari.... yummm!
But you *can* live underwater, just like you can live underground. And you can get fish with a fishing pole.
As a matter of fact, when the server I am playing in did a reset for 1.0 I went "walkabout" until I had a stack of every critical supply on my backpack (on Hard, good thing I didn't die and lose everything). Then I joined a friend underground (he TP'd me to him) and I have only been to the surface once - for about 1 minute - out of curiosity. Everything else I built from what I had on me: A tree farm (from saplings) for wood, a chicken farm (from eggs), melon, wheat, sugarcane, cactus and pumpkin are next (from seeds found during walkabout and in caves), etc.
So, there is no reason not to live at the bottom of an ocean.
And if you really want sheep, cows and pigs, just make a tunnel to the mainland and lead a pair of each using wheat. Then flood/fill the tunnel.
You don't have to be able to eat squid - you can build a little underwater farm and grow wheat there too.
They took 40 blocks. That’s as many as four tens. And that’s horrible.
It would make you breath underwater for double the time and the squid you put the saddle on wouldn't respawn.
I'm getting off topic.
All your squids belong to me
You have no idea how many flags I make.
I wish notch would add fruits and more crops to the game...
and horses.... imagine that
a full on farm.... crops and horses/cows/pigs/chickens../sheep
