Lately in my world, i have been seeing nether mobs inside the regular world. I saw 2 at my caverns. I killed them both and saw my door to my teleporter was open. So i closed it and left. The next morning in MineCraft, i saw at least 50 of them swarming by my mine entrance. So then i needed help. Can you help?
What sort of mobs are they? Pigs turn into Zombie Pigmen if hit by lightning, and Ghasts can very rarely spawn in the Overworld from a Nether Portal.
Although seeing 50 makes me think you're trolling.
I'm not trolling. I also don't have pigs or storms i my area
. I think i'mm hearing ghast to.
I'd say your over exaggerating ghasts very rarely ever spawn in the over world, there has to be some reason that's causing it also 50 is waayyy too many if there was a thunderstorm then you might see a couple of zombie pigmen walking around but you would not see 50. Besides although both of those things are highly unlikely there must be something that is causing that.
Notes for the ignorant people in this topic who failed to do their research:
- Ghasts NEVER spawn in the normal world. It is impossible to get one in the overworld without hacking
- Zombie pigmen are the only nether mob capable of being in the overworld naturally, as they result when lightning strikes a pig (which is rare). They still do not spawn on their own, think of them like obsidian.
No, ghasts don't spawn near portals, that feature was never implemented and when you look at the code, it is clearly impossible for ANY nether mob to spawn in the overworld.

- Ghasts NEVER spawn in the normal world. It is impossible to get one in the overworld without hacking Actually, there used to be a bug that would make them spawn in the real world occasionally. That was nearly a year ago though, but it's why people have these misconceptions.

That's what everyone else has been saying, so if you think all the other people are simply 'ignorant people' then you've misguided yourself.

Actually it is true before 1.5 it was due to a bug that ghasts could spawn in the over world. But since 1.5 it is possible for a ghast to spawn in the overworld but it is a very small chance that it will happen. I have been playing minecraft for over a year and it has only happened to me once. I still don't see why they could be spawning often though it's probably random reason why they would be spawning that often.

When a player in an SMP server dies near Ghasts or is teleported out of the Nether to the surface world (not via a portal) there is a chance the Ghasts will follow them to their new location in the surface world. These Ghasts may act like normal Ghasts but could also behave radically differently than normal. Changes in teleported Ghasts include the Ghast-less explosions and Ghasts without explosions mentioned above. The teleported Ghast may also freeze in one location or "stalk" a certain player (moving closer to a player until they touch like a normal hostile mob) but both of these are extremely rare.
The OP's post is still ridiculous, but its not impossible for a Ghast to come out.
well maybe you have a giant nether room with at least one-hundred portals. personally i've never seen this happen outside of my portal maze. The maze also doubles as a hunting room :smile.gif:
Ghasts have a small chance to spawn by a portal and go through it, but I couldn't explain the other mobs...
Did you even read above you? It is IMPOSSIBLE to get a ghast into the real world without hacking. That was a bug that happened nearly a year ago, but was patched later.

Me too. I could believe a ghast spawning once, maybe a few pigmen, but 50? That's either a troll or a weird mod he has.

Actually, people are confused because of this:

But Jeb later said the feature was never implemented:
