It's a pretty lame release. They could have at least included something a little new or surprising. And no, they're not "doing everything they can", but they don't really have to. They've already made millions upon millions on an unfinished game. Now we see that the theoretically finished game isn't all we had hoped it to be, and some are understandably disappointed.
I am, as I feel they have yet to fix most of the major flaws of the game--and this is not exclusive to "bugs". Notch had made a lot of promising statements back then, and I feel let down. I got the game in alpha and I'm still not sure it was a good purchase.
The worst part is, I have no faith they'll introduce any game-changing updates now that it's released. This is the finished product, anything new will be fairly minor, probably similar to the prerelease updates.
Oh, so all I do is hating on Notch, sucking cock on mod community and whine how god damn awful this game is now?
Alright, lets ignore that statement and look for a valid point in your post...
Oh, there is none. Not a valid one, anyways.
Your point seems to be "I like it so stop talking"
And what exactly is YOUR point may I ask? And to be completely sincere, and ask an honest question, why do you play Minecraft?

So shut up, and stop playing it. Is my post absolutely pointless? Absolutely. But, I've been with it since before alpha too and I see nothing wrong it, and it seems pretty finished to me. Oh boo hoo, I'm not sure I made a wise purchase. Wah wah wahhh. And yet, you're still playing it, and you're still on the forums. Seems a bit silly to me. Today it is my personal mission to call all you whiners out on being ungrateful dicks. That felt good :smile.gif:
And by the way, to the guy with the picture of himself who keeps on saying "it's your fault for getting the prereleases, because they weren't official releases". This is a terrible argument, and does not at all address the complaint that they could have included something that would be new to everyone, just so it would feel like an actual update.

Ungrateful? It's something you BUY, there's nothing to be grateful about. And do you really mean to say that no one is allowed to criticize anything ever, for any reason? What a terrible world you must live in.
Good as in first post that wasn't someone defending Mojang doing a shitty job.
Well it's your opinion that it's a shitty job. (and ****ing hilarious enough, you're gonna play the game today still) To those who think (still an opinion) that they've done a great job (did I mention you're still playing it?), we're simply pointing out that you're being a bit ungrateful and dickish. Know what I mean?
And what exactly is YOUR point may I ask? And to be completely sincere, and ask an honest question, why do you play Minecraft?
My point is that the release didnt fix any bugs and didnt add much at all. The game is also more expensive now.
I do play minecraft because I enjoy it, but that doesnt keep that lacking release from disappointing me.
I can enjoy things and have an opinion that is not 100% good about them. Im pretty sure you cannot, because you seem to assume that everyone with a problem with the game must hate it.
You're not alone man. The front page of the forum is littered with complaint after complaint. All I can think is, what a bunch of ungrateful twats. Makes me feel ill. I love the game, always have, always will. CHEERS to the entire Mojang team for making an amazing game.
Amen. This game is sold at a cheaper rate than a crappy used PS2 game, lets you build what you want, has several different modes, settings and choices of levels, as well as personalized skins, not to mention the fact that Mojang doesn't mind and encourages people to make their own textures and mods and the list goes on and on. Complaining about "swamp water not blending", seriously ?

You do realize release candidate meant that if it goes well, that was the version they were releasing? There really wasn't meant to be much a difference. And it's expensive because it's not in the testing phase anymore.
While I rather hate the attitude and tone of the OP, he is right about the number of bug fixes seeming to be small. The statement was that the game had been feature-locked until release so that they could work on bug fixes. I have certain found a number of bug fixes (animals in SMP breed properly, smiting actually gives XP now), but the fact that the first thing I ran into was a bug (double doors, one of them makes the other open then closes itself) doesn't bode well. The ending to the game is nice, but it did constitute a feature addition, which doesn't go along with the idea of feature-locked and potentially introduces new bugs.
I love Minecraft and I'll continue to, and I think that some of the "bugs" listed in the OP aren't bugs so much as not the way he wants them. I just think that people need to find a happy middle-ground between "Mojang can do no wrong" and "thing isn't the way I wanted so everything sucks."
As for why you see so few positive posts, the mods keep deleting them. I've tried to post in several only to find that they don't exist anymore because they're "spam."
Edited for clarity: I understand that the feature-lock went into effect after the release candidates.

What do you mean? I'm criticizing you. And yeah, I am grateful because someone made a game I absolutely love and decided to release it. I'm glad they did. The thing that gets me, is that the people constantly (and that's the big point) criticizing the game...still play it. What a sad world YOU must live in. Me, if I don't like something, a game, food, a movie, I don't give it my attention. Do you always play games you ***** about?

Okay, so you can only criticize something if you absolutely despise it and dont touch it anymore?
Alright, I guess thats why the restaurant-critics dont eat food.
No wait. Thats not true at all, youre just wrong.

A reasonable post. But one does not have to find a "middle ground" just because you feel that is the best point of view. Some people have very apt criticisms as to why this official release is a disappointment.
Yesterday it had all those things. It does that today as well.
Today it costs double the price.
They didn't Beta test. Be grateful if you had the guts to try it out, you got a break. Still cheaper than most of the garbage that passes for "high quality games" these days.

Just a little off topic here, but you dont really know what an oxymoron is, eh?
Thanks for trying to be reasonable and giving the devoted fans a good image

Today it raised 5 euros. Which, I mean, my math might be off, but 14.95 to 19.95 is not double.

Are we not allowed to find fault with the game, then? How big does a flaw have to be for us to dare mentioning it?
Whether or not the bad water blending is a flaw, however, is up to debate.
Something about blocks.
