I first discovered minecraft when a user on another forum posted a topic about a browser game coded in java. So I decided to try it. I was semi intrigued by the random spawning of worlds and being able to build with unlimited blocks. However my interest died fast This was several years ago.
Skip to the beginning of this year, I started watching some videos of minecraft and realized that it was becoming something interesting, so I coughed up the money and bought it. Up until this point I didn't regret it. Back then minecraft was a game that I could have anyone play and they could get enjoyment out of it.
It's not a bloody ultra violent game, the kind of game that people blame for causing school shooting. It was a relaxing game that anyone could play before getting a good night sleep.
There was a perfect mix or hostile mobs that you could choose to enable that made the game a challenge or a cakewalk.
unmodded minecraft soon became boring to me so I started playing on a server. That lost it's appeal quickly so I turned to mods so I could keep the game enjoyable and continue playing it.
Then I found out about the 1.8 "update" I can live with endermen new mobs are ok, I like bigger biomes and rivers, I like the idea of abandoned mineshafts and underground ravines. More farming options is great. Sprinting is a great idea.
Instead of just those what did we get all? animations for eating food. Why do we need those? if I wanted a food eating sim I'd eat somthing in real life. Charging bow's. if it was for realistic purposes I'd understand but since when has minecraft been realistic? Fog that closes in on you the deeper you get. Why? it's a bad mechanic I don't even have the option of modding it out.
and that is why I am boycotting 1.8 I refuse to watch any videos download any mods or even update to 1.8.
NPC villages, Melons, Endermans,Melons,Creative,Adventure,Melons,Rivers, Oceans, Melons, Ravines, spider caves, BIGBIGBIG caves, and the best of all Melons
What annoys me... is that out of all the new things in Beta 1.8 - you picked the useless ones.
And then you decide to "boycott" 1.8? Over some animations?
Boycotts are only succesful when followed with pursuasion. Whereas your boycotting cause you can, the lesser minority of the minecraft community may care, but the majority doesn't. Thanks for wasting a few minutes of my time. ~Zero
So you are not playing because... of fog and eating and all that???
if that's what is bothering you i think i never laughed so much in my life, thanks!

Greetings, nice to meet ya! if i helped you in any kind of way be sure to press the lil' arrow button there, and you will help me too! that's cool isn't it???
We are being subjugated to the feudal tyranny of Notch! Wait a second... no... this is the internet. You can choose to go outside and live your life! Or do something else. Buy a different game! Make your own game! You are the one who chose to spend money on it - you have to live with your decision. Stop whining k thnx
I agree. 1.8 just brought up another mob, some new modes (which can be accessed better with easy to download mods) made the game a bit more realistic (WHY, NOTCH, WHY), Added some more, useless foods and added more bugs and lag.
Well with that derp-ass logic, you could just say that, "Well, Minecraft was just a game... about blocks, and placing them..." (which sold millions of copies). You're completely overlooking the specifics of the update and that is why your logic is high on the derpjuice.
All the changes made to gameplay make the game more replayable...atleast..that's what Notch is striving for. In 1.7.3, once you get diamond you have basically won. He is adding more challenges, and more "adventure" to add more fun, more replay-ability, and more excitement. Give 1.8 more of your time, and if you don't like it, mod it, that's what is great about PC gaming!

That is all.
Oh and the food animation makes it so you eat slowly, therefore you can't eat in battle. Much more fun and dangerous.
Time flies, but so does my pig.
Time flies, but so does my pig.
I did downgrade, and as far as modding goes the fog is hardcoded, be sheep if you want to but I refuse.
One man not upgrading isn't going to bring about any change. 1000 on the other hand not agreeing with the changes can.
>be sheep
**** dude, you just went full hipster.
*looks around* Crap!

I'm not opposed to change, I'm opposed to poor changes. Remember I paid to play a beta. I do have a right to an opinion.
genius.
I never said otherwise, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
