I've always thought that paintings should be able to be put onto floors as something like a throw rug... I dunno, spice up the floor blocks a little... I know its a minor change and probably easily 'moddable' bust still...
oh and something to make daytime combat a little more interesting than: wander out into sunlit area and wait for everything to burn, then proceed to shoot all creepers and spiders with arrows, as there are about 3...
New enemies wouldnt go amiss...
I like the guns idea, I'm imagining revolutionary war servers with line battles and such. I was also thinking about guns myself. But in the form of like a hunting rifle from like fallout 3 or something. I was also thinking that instead of just smacking a pig with a sword and two magic porkchops appear, maybe to need to make a knife and skin the animal to get hides and meat. It would add a key survival experience to the whole Survival portion of Minecraft
I wish that Notch would add some a mode where you can do quests and level skills. Sort of an RPG mode if you will. Hopefully quests will be added in the adventure update or another update.
I would like him to add some more mobs, and maybe a quest system for the NPC villages. This wouldn't turn it into WoW, the idea would be quite simple. A town (we'll call it Terrorvale) is having a problem with a nearby ruin, as it's spawning spiders that are attacking the populace. Once you destroy the spawner(s), you report back to the quest-giver, who rewards you with, say, 150 gold coins. Non-repeatable, simple quests. But what do you use the coins in? The shop system! The local trader has various items for sale, from iron ingots to gold armor. Prices fluctuate from place to place. One area might be sitting on top of a large iron deposit, so iron products would be cheap there. Gold, on the other hand, might be incredibly rare, so the price of gold items goes up. Coins can of course be crafted (1 ingot = 10 coins). These features can of course be turned off during the creation of a world, and they will not appear in pre-update worlds. But I'm getting carried away :tongue.gif:

If you're getting carried away, its with an epic idea! Maybe you could sell stuff to them, like for your gold rises example, if you sold gold, the price of gold would go down, and if some people figured out how, they could use this to gain like, 1 gold coin, for every set of something, but like a completely random set of stuff, so its hard to figure out.
all the Ideas are great guys. and I do wish notch would read them. I should point out that if you go to notchs blog he has a short liust of things he has revealed for adventure mode. HOWEVER. there are obviously things that havent been revealed as well, so some of the ideas could come into the game soon. ;D
Under the old durability, you could say the post was a diamond pickaxe worth.
My idea. Fossils. The idea of being able to find unique things by mining in the ground is just too perfect. Could be as mundane as just to collect bones to make display pieces. Like a distributed jig saw puzzle. Or they could be used to reveal artifacts that reveal a new aspect of the game. The possibilities are endless. Just putting in the framework would be good enough for now.
I wish Notch added smaller things that won't be game breaking, like ambiance. It'd also make sense if burning raw pork cooks it, just like a live pig when it burns to death. he should also add the impossiblity of adding guns, because that's how features work.
It would be cool if he made random stuff happen like a naked dude hop out of a tree, slap you, and take your stuff :biggrin.gif: it'd be sad that u lost ur stuff but it would be funny, also like quests you can get somehow
Someone said something about pyramids.
Well.. really BIG pyramids made of sandstone with a secret way to a tomb inside it and a mummy guarding a chest with some cool stuff.
Flat deserts as said again would be nice.
Is the Aether going to be implemented?? (I've already made my Aether portal xD)
New stuff in the Nether.
MOON!!!11!!ELEVEN!!1
Higher sky and deeper bedrock.
Something that allow's you to fly.. but costly :cool.gif: (maybe the "Moahs" or something like a primitive ballon)..
Redstone blocks to store
A very rare kind of HUGE tree (branch houses are just awesome)
Probably there's much more that I can't remember at the moment
Cannot stand the AI in minecraft. It's terrible and makes killing stuff by trappping them on the geometry of trees or 1m high blocks way to easy.
Also i hate the water in minecraft, i know it probably wont' be changed but i'de like to see somesort fo realistic water like dwarffortress, liquidCubed or finite liquid.
Certain creepers start as babies (and are brown) and as you feed them cake, they grow bigger and become a full grown (and green) creeper. They can blow up 10 times before they die, and are your pet/companion. My friend told me that it was a real mod, and I believed him. :angry.gif:

There is already a mod for fossils!
Trees and flowers make the world prettier.
Also he needs to CHANGE THE DAMNED DEFAULT GLASS TEXTURE BECAUSE IT MAKES MY EYES VOMIT JUST LIKE THESE CAPITAL LETTERS MAKE YOURS VOMIT
