Where did you read this will mean FPS drop? Mods do cause the drop, maybe... But this is an implemented feature and is most likely generated alongside the rest of the world. Or am I wrong?
They need to make all terrain features toggle-able tbeh. They also need to pull the Biome mod into vanilla minecraft.
Anyways to the point of my post, there's a HUGE difference between mods and something supported by Mojang, chances are these new mob villages won't have any more of an impact on your FPS than finding a dungeon would.
I am willing to bet Villages, and probably a lot of other 1.8+ content will be limited to one game mode, not all of them... so you could just play in the game mode that doesnt have them? But even if ythey are in all game modes, how much lag oculd it posibly bring to have a few extra houses and NPCs? if you lag in this game, you need a new PC.

please no more HErobrine threads, It waS kinda cool at fiRst, but now thEy Are just fLat out annoying.
I have a lenovo laptop with Intel core i5. its a fast computer. only 2 years old. everything's great. I don't get alot of lag. the only thing is that its a 32 bit and i cant use hd texture packs . XD so really get a new computer or at least upgrade :tongue.gif:
People want Notch to make things toggleable so that they can run Minecraft on their toaster.
Other people such as myself, do NOT want things toggleable because it would take away physical parts of the game.
The reason I hate this thread so much is because whenever a new update is slated to have something "Cool" and "Big", people with toaster **** themselves thinking of how their windows NT isn't going to run Minecraft anymore. I see this type of thread every time a new update is announced, and It's annoying. But by far, the most annoying part is when the update finally releases and the feature that they wanted to be toggleable, is, in fact, not toggleable.
So in a final statement that I said in the first post. "Get a better computer or shut up", actually means a lot.

How is it 'limiting Notch's game' when u add a toggle. What is up with people wanting to force the way they play on others?
If notch makes the game, he can force anything he wants on us.
I don't see why there are 3 pages of whining about a drop in fps. If you can't manage to pillage a non-hostile village on your own, there's bigger problems than low FPS to worry about. Grief the village; higher framerate.

To be fair, assuming villages does mess up framerates (It will not), then you have a scenario where you're lagging, and the only way to get rid of the lag is to fight through it, which is never, ever fun.
To the people asking where the fps drop will come from, I have a short explanation.
All mobs now are on the "Wonder" AI, which means all they do is wander until they see you, then either keep wandering or attack. With NPC villages, the NPCs will have to have some sort of pathing to get where they're going, and doing a bit of assumption, crafting, and resource finding too, so unless the NPC code is very optimized, and Notch optimizes existing code, there will be an FPS drop.
Oh, and to the people talking about "weary" in my title, it was a mistake, sorry I didn't notice.
Also, I'll add a third poll to see who wants them, gameplay wise.
I'm not happy with NPC villages. I'll probably treat them as mob villages, regardless of their alignment, kill all the inhabitants and take their stuff.
Villages will not be toggleable, get a better computer and shut up.

Not sure I'm understanding, the houses look very plain and you wont have to load them all at the same time, the mobs will probably be very low (2-4). It's basically just as if you were building a house and there were a few cows around or something.

Alright here's what it comes down to:

Didn't think of that. Brilliant argument you've given.

and here i thought people wanted things to be toggleable so they would be able to play the game the way they wanted.
thank you for enlightening me, angry internet person.
Agreed. Also check this out if you want better FPS for cheap.
yeezy taught me
They're gonna be in SSP.
For most people, it isn't the ram, it is the GPU, not nearly as cheap.

NOT NICE.
Are you kidding? Any computer with an Intel graphics card gets about 10-30 on the highest setting with out an FPS booster mod/ game booster.
If you are that worried, don't update?
