Haha, I was thinking it might be sort of a fun multiplayer game as well. World trees sprouting up all over and competing with each other. Would work especially well if each player had a different style of tree, able to mark their boundaries with those.
Say you make a massive room in the tree for a farm. According to the rules, you can't get into that farm without wood paths everywhere. But yet I see farms that (although smaller) take one more than one block away
So is it allowed provided that the material is encased in a wood room/has wood under it?

This would be an apsolute amazing community project, eventually the trees would link up, and people could travel between trees. I would love to see this as a server :biggrin.gif:
Like.. I can't believe I'm saying this AGAIN.. Like Ewoks?

I've been doing this challenge for about half an hour or so, and it's very entertaining. I'm using Mo' Creatures, Xie's Cooking Mod, And Xie's Hunger Mod while doing this challenge. I'm playing on Peaceful Mode, But if you think about it, the Hunger Mod cancels out that (Since Food is insanely hard to find). I have established an ugly wood box with no roof, and found a Pegasus! In the Wild! I knew I was cheating, but I ran up to it, InvEditted an Apple and a horse saddle, then tamed it and rode it home, Then containing it in a dirt box. Yeah, yeah, I cheated blah blah blah, But It's just such a shame to leave it there.
I tried this challenge and when I dug down underneath the tree(under the wood block) in 20 min or so time, I found 7 diamonds
Thank you Tree :biggrin.gif:

One idea for this, is to make the floor out of wood entirely. Then, add a dirt block to the spot you wish to plant the tree, thus having it on an elevated platform. Spread those evenly apart from one another, and you have a tree farm!
But if you make an enclosed area of wood, I figure you could do what ever you want inside of it :tongue.gif:
Trying to do this only using materials that are renewable without leaving the immediate area. Had to mine 8 cobblestone for a furnace (so I could make unlimited charcoal without leaving the area) and dirt but other than that everything is unlimited renewable without leaving my area.
Only using wood tools, snowblocks (in a snow biome so storms bring more), mob drops, birch trees, and dirt. Might go to a main base (this is in my main world but I went to an isolated location and brought nothing with me) for a bucket and 1 sugar cane so I can make use of water, cow milk, and sugar cane, since they are also renewable.
I've gotten grass to grow inside my base so I can get animals to spawn inside sometimes.
I haven't made a wheat farm, mainly since I don't have water in range and cooked pork has been enough food.
For combat I've mostly been using wood swords and axes, tho I have enough string for a bow and even a fishing rod, but not many arrows yet since only been getting skeleton drops.

Decided to try this and went for a birch tree. No saplings dropped. So, I've got a question on the rules. I decided to use my blocks to slowly crawl to another birch tree. I never left the perimeter of my birch blocks, and there was always one on the ground. Is that against the rules?
I was also going to ask how do you lose the challenge, but I dug myself out in the morning and a creeper blew up, destroying my entire tree :sad.gif:
WORLD #1 - Random lava spout was responsible for starting a forest fire. Nothing survived D:
WORLD #2 - Creeper blew up everything.
WORLD #3 - Cowering in a hole covered with spiders.
EDIT: OK, creepers are seriously freaking me out. My third world has been repeatedly struck by creepers, resulting in several craters I cannot fill up. I'm getting scared of the dark, there's a cave I've sealed up that used to result in a string of zombies, and I can't mine anymore because I can't go outside without dying because I have no weapons.
Help me...

....... I cant get down to the beach yet to get sand for glass :sad.gif: but I'm not sure if i actually want glass....
No need for glass, just use fences as windows, the base floor of mine has fence windows, lets you see out and be safe, and creeper blasts near them leaves them as items rather then destroyed like glass.

My tree is now massive and i have way to many trees growing. i tried to grow my tree rather then build it so i like it this way. the only bad thing is my server is on peaceful at the moment :sad.gif: and i can't help but walk off the tree to collect a dropped item :sad.gif:.
