I used to tame 1 or 2 every now and then to go wool hunting. Now... well no need for details of there demise.
Really with the recent change to the way you gather wool, they need some major work. There AI is simply put - FAIL. Was a good attempt by Jeb on them, but really I still dont fill they have a place in the game as is.
I think wolves are cool... at times. I agree they can act very stupid and get in the way at times, but atleast they make you feel less lonely in your world and sometimes they CAN be helpful. :smile.gif:
I love the idea of being able to raise animals and maybe make an animal farm or something, just as Orwell intended. And then you have to protect your sheepies by killing wolves! But I still don't like sheep. And also, I do kill wolves. I even have a video on my Youtube channel of me leading my wolves to their death! (Advertising for myself ftw)

No you didn't, because TNT damage doesn't stack.
See my About Me section for info about me.
I understand why Mojang made the change to sheep, but yeah it's turned wolves into a rather large annoyance especially since my only SP world is in a HUGE forest biome, heh.
I usualy tame one just to have him sit in my house and look pretty, otherwise they're made worthless largely because of Creepers. (Creepers ruin everything don't they?)
Though you can always look on the bright side, wolves will NEVER EVER be as annoying as Squid.
They're friends, and pets. I made a custom tamed skin, unique, and only tamed one. I only take him places that I've got complete control over, and occasionally, we got zombie hunting.
I didn't ever want super-beings that could fight all my battles for me, I just wanted a companion and they're perfect for that.
Of course, due to the whole only-seeing-three-legitimately, I had to hack in a spawner to get him, but that's not the point.

My Grandmother passed away on Sunday, the 7th of August, 2011. I am taking an extended leave of absence in light of this. My apologies.
I tame them and bring them into caves. It feels wrong to just SLAUGHTER them for no apparent reason even with absolutely no usefull drop and only the sick image of a beheaded wolf in you twisted mind. Threres my two cents.
Capitalizing the word "slaughter" doesn't alter the fact that they have notoriously weak AI, kill useful passive mobs, and spawn generally in larger packs than the other mobs, effectively pushing your passive mob spawns closer to the cap, lowering the amount of resources you will be able to potentially gather while the wolves exist.
Only because I didn't have any bones. The one I did tame died while spelunking.

A reckoning is not to be postponed indefinitely. Lacre cannot bury the law. All shall be well and all manner of things shall be well.

I'm very anti-wolf.
