automapping sounds great, but in a non griefing way i really want notch to make hand held torches that are lit while in your hand. like a proper torch.
Well... IMO thats good. I hate Redstone, and threfore I hate Pistons, and since I Hate Multiplayer because I hate the lag on it, I have never seen a redstone machine, and I hate using redstone because I fail at it and thats why I hate Redstone and everything related to it like Mob Farms, I also hate those as well as annoying machines, I HATE ANNOYING MACHINES and finally I hate skeletons

I recall reading that this sort of thing would be very difficult with the current lighting method.
Getting into a cave and finding giant webs... Wow I have arachnophobia and they're gonna add this in-game?! FFFUUU... I just hope there wont be giant spiders in the future, that'd literally make me poop out a freaking brick house. Anyways, I'm kinda new to the forums, are we supposed to post bugs here?

This is not the correct area of the forum for your question. You will be much better served here:
I don't understand why Notch would add pistons -.- It takes away the simplicity of Minecraft I think.
So because its to hard for you ? you dont like it? this kinda reminds me of the attitude of average lowlife console gamers, no offence.
Minecraft should have lots of advanced stuff, the simple goal of a game have been the same since the dawn of time. easy to learn hard to master.
I for one welcome more advanced stuff. thats what makes minecraft so great, that you can take time to learn and make advanced stuff. and yea I dont find the redstone stuff easy to do, but i do enjoy it.
I agree with you entirely, there are too many games today that are too easy because they remove or choose to avoid using anything that will cause the less adaptable players to curl up in a ball and cry while they either wait for the hissing to stop or die from the destruction of what they believe to be their masterpiece of a house. If you want minecraft without any challenge then there's a free to play version that you can access at: http://www.minecraft.net. My point is, these items are here for the people who wish to play around with their game, but it is not required to have a perfectly good time playing the game, it is the same case with redstone. If players wish to master all aspects of the game, let them, give them a challenge, redstone on it's own can be a pain in the ass to master but then they go and introduce things like redstone repeaters so that the people who DO find it coming more naturally can broaden their wealth of knowledge of these things.
I'm really interested as how spider webs are going to work when they're properly added, will they only be in spider dungeons? Or will they randomly appear with spiders, kind of like chickens laying eggs?
I agree, the idea is interesting, another question to ask would be: in the case that a web in on the floor and you walk onto it, will this cause you to be stuck until it is destroyed? or maybe just slow you down like slow sand? either one makes you a prime target for the spiders.
I think implementing spider webs into the game will be tricky. It is a neat idea, but how will they function? Having a spider lay down a web in the middle of a field isn't all that practical "oh, theres a spiderweb there, I'll just avoid that." when was the last time you could easily spot a spiderweb? Most of the time you just sort of stumble into one and freak out. I feel the same should be true for minecraft.
Perhaps coding the spiders to be able to dig two blocks down into dirt, then planting a web at the bottom, sort of like a pit would be interesting. I don't think webs should be able to be placed on every block, just ones that would make common sense. Maybe remove spider mob spawners altogether and make webs the primary spawner for spiders? Also, the webs should have some sort of craft table value...perhaps when you break a web there is a chance to drop string, which in turn could be used to craft wool or some other fabric?
You pork'd the thread?

Just start simple and add something basic, then make it better as time goes on.

Short: It ain't gonna happen.

Just because something is 'in' the game doesn't mean it will be used soon, after all, we've all seen what happened with the pigmen...

Simplicity = Classic/Creative
Minecraft = Freedom

The framing of this circle on the ground
Brings whirlwinds, tempests, thunder and lightning.
Dang it, you beat me to it.
