I know that this isn't really a bug but (Notch you should make it so you can spawn any map that you have created =D) i have just died in fire and everything i have burnt including my MAP, so i was wondering if there is a way to get it back, it was my third map and it was completely created, and it took me like 2 hours to do it (two hours straight...ugh) but it BURNT. Help Please.
Thanks.
Not only is this not the forum (You want Suggestions) for that, but Notch doesn't read these.
I don't know if this has been seen before, but if you hold a compass, and try to break a block, it will teleport you forward to whatever block you are targeting.
Hi, everyone! I've got a major bug to report. I did a lot of exploring the overworld, playing with my new map (which I love) and exploring a nearby continent. When I get back to my home, I find that two large chunks of land have been swapped out. Here are a couple screenshots so you can see for yourselves.
What's worse, this bug also crashes my framerate as long as I'm anywhere near the surface, maybe 1-2 fps. My only recourse is to dive into the caverns deep below my house and farm. When I get deep enough (almost to bedrock), the framerate returns to normal.
I'm hoping the Mojang crew is already on the case, and I'm eagerly awaiting the 1.6.6 update. Has this happened to anyone?
As always, many thanks to Notch and the Mojang crew, who have worked tirelessly to create one of the greatest video games ever made.
since I updated my dogs do not work. They are still sitting with their collars on but i cant make them unsit and when i hit them they attack me where they never did before.
Do you think anyone at Mojang actually plays or tests any of this crap before hey release it?
Seems like they don't.
I'd like to be a QA guy at Mojang because I'm pretty sure it's the easiest job in the world.
No, that's unfair. Most people don't appreciate how difficult it is to create a large, complex computer program and then catch all the bugs. A computer program is essentially mathematics, and Minecraft has over a billion lines of code. Imagine trying to untangle a box full of cables and cords, and imagine that on a cosmic scale. For every cord you untangle, three more have somehow become stuck. It's very challenging and time-consuming.
This is why Minecraft is still unfinished. It's in the Beta stage, remember. The only difference is that we, the public, have been brought into the development process by Notch. He didn't have to do that; he took a risk in bringing us into the creative process, warts and all. The traditional (and safe) route is to finish the video game, and then hand it to the public.
We should be thankful for Notch and Mojang, and appreciate their dedication and hard work. And we should also be proactive; instead of complaining about bugs, let's point them out so Mojang can find and remove them. They're working as hard as they can, so we should help support them. Anyway, that's my take on the issue.
Has anyone tried to sleep in nether with beds on smp? cause whenever I right-click a bed in the nether it blows up. Is that supposed to happen. Weird because it has a bigger blast radius than tnt.
Seems to be a bug with beds too in SMP - I right clicked on one then logged out and the server says either "end of stream" or "bad login". Im running 1.6.5 now

If you press F8 while in a boat your turning will become like a boats turning after exiting the boat (you'll see what I mean if you try it). I'm not sure if it applies to SMP but it does to SSP. The only way to fix after hitting F8 is to restart Minecraft.

I've experienced something like this as well and I feel that Mojang is probably working on this and hopefully it will be fixed in the 1.6.6 update.
I was disappointed that there was only wooden hatches, I would like iron hatches as well, which function like iron doors, only horizontal. Also, there needs to be better mod support, if there is any major change in the next update I hope it is this. having to juggle around the mods that don't work with each other is not working for me. And please above all else, except the better mod support, please put in pistons, just think of all the creative maps and buildings people would create.
in summary:
iron hatches
better mod support!!!
Pistons!
...I don't know if anyone has discovered this yet but when I made a mpa in my large, but unfinished house on my friend's server, selecting the map made me crash.
When I walked away from the house and the point I made the map, it seemed to work fine unless I walked into my backyard, crashing me every time I opened up the map. =/
Looks like I'll have to map the abandoned part of my island first... |D;

GENERATION 21: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.
A friend and I were in out private SMP server today, and we were mining obsidian (An achievement, given the server's still quite young.). I handed the pick to my friend, as we decided to swap jobs. He used the pick once, and it broke. I used the iron sword I dropped, it broke too.
Looks like the "Breaking dropped tools" bug is back.

Of course it is supposed to happen.
That's a mod.
Well you don't. But you remember to always make a copy to keep safe at home, for the future.

Is there a way to copy maps? Or do you just make 2 and fill them both in with the same area?
EDIT: Oops, went back and read some of the thread. You just sneak-click when crafting while holding the map. Thanks, and sorry for the pointless post.
