The fire thing doesn't seem to be added to the buglist. I guess the minute details are tough to come by, as so far it's only happened when I wasn't looking.
But things caught fire that were more than 2 blocks away, and that did not catch fire before the update. Not talking about fences and other things that are now flammable but weren't before. I didn't see how it started, so I don't know if it caught something on the diagonal, or directly above or what.
I think three people have reported similar experiences.
I am glad fire has been nerfed, but still this is unexpected and unfortunate and if not a bug, then the rules of fire have changed and need to be figured out.
I've got this happening in my world. Above a quarry I have checkerboard glass and lava source. Before the update no problem. Now one particular piece of cobblestone is constantly catching fire. It doesn't spread or anything but it is weird.
There are times in SMP when my map doesn't show me on it anymore ( and I'm certain I'm in the parameters of the map )
I've also destroyed a dirt block with snow on it, the snow stayed and shortly after the dirt came back. I'm not sure if this is client side or a bug.
Just a general comment about the process. While it's frustrating that there are so many new bugs and we all have to wait a bit to see them get fixed, I'm sure that Notch and crew are learning a LOT about the interdependencies between different sections of code. For example, to try to optimize performance, one of the patch notes mentioned not updating blocks that don't "change". Well, this was possibly the cause of the lighting issues.
Point being, that once 1.6 finally gets cleaned up, further updates will likely be much smoother because they made all of these mistakes and can learn from them to make more solid code for the final release. When they add new features, they'll also have a better understanding of all the places they'll need to check code.
It's an iterative process, and we're all a part of it. So when you report bugs (after checking the First Post please!) try to be as specific about the circumstances and your option settings as possible. :cool.gif:
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Current Let's Play Series: "The Long Road" (Vanilla Minecraft in 1.8 snapshots), "Life in the Woods" (Modded 1.6.4), "Kerbal Speed Program" (Vanilla KSP with chipmunk voice commentary).

"Destroyed" blocks that reappear is an old multiplayer issue, where you destroy a block but the server never gets the message, and when the client and server disagree on what happened, the server eventually wins. It's not actually a bug per se, it's just lag/packet loss/networking weirdness. You might be seeing it more with the latest update because there's apparently some other bug causing bad lag on some servers.
Everybody says that dropping your pick and picking it back up, then having it break in a single hit is a bug. It's not! It's a revenge feature. Am I the only one who recalls the immortal armor and constantly healed tools?
This is just to even things up a bit. See? It's the exact opposite of that previous bug everybody loved.

My Cactus trap no longer kills mobs...period. I tested it and I don't take damage either.
If you put a cactus on a sand block, you can jump from the ground, to the sand, to the cactus.
You can jump onto the sand and stand there and take damage.
If you bump into a cactus that is a eye level you take no damage
{ The cactus will not damage you and you can jump up on the cactus

I was looking at some videos on hatches usages in traps and just thought about an other use (decorative).
Don't know if it has already been posted. I just launched the game to test so you need to image the pic with stone wall and glass in the middle but hatches are useful to decorate windows as shutters :
The heck. Are you supposed to be able to no clip thru trapdoors? Just put a trapdoor on my incineration pit (used for burning crap that clogs my stashes) and when I tried standing on it I fell RIGHT through and died. What gives :sad.gif: Lost my entire inv. with several stacks of iron.
SSP or SMP? I could understand this happening in SMP, being it is kinda messed up through and through right now. SSP though...that would be a bug/glitch.

I really like this! I am going to go do this right now. Thank you for this idea. Here is a for your idea.
You should be, I ran into that bug. It's *ONLY* client side. You think you're healthy but really you're still almost dead. It's luring you into a false sense of security.
In my own experience, the player is fully healed for realz. I tested it myself. Had it been as you described, I would've died during the tests. But I didn't, so either the behavior isn't consistent or you had some sorta lag issue.

So far, I've used them as:
- Window shutters
- Wall accents
- Fancy table (place hatches on all 4 sides of a sandstone block and put them up, looks snazzy).
Yes, while others are devising traps, the first thing I do is see how the new feature applies to interior design. >.> I'm glad I'm not alone in this. :wink.gif:
Hope it didn't hurt. Let us know how it goes :smile.gif:
Went well enough. :smile.gif:
Tried putting hatches over glowstone. It makes for interesting flooring (as long as said flooring is no more than two blocks wide). It's also a nice concealment for glowstone ceiling lights (I don't personally like the look of glowstone much, unless it's in clusters).

That good sir is called lag.

I love your avatar/pic, btw :smile.gif:

Im sure if it was so simple to read through 84 pages of "bug reports" in under 24 hours, Notch would. It isn't, so he doesn't.
Now if people were say doing what Jimor posted above, mainly;
then there wouldn't be 85 pages :smile.gif:

You were able to do that for the longest time.

Ooh, just had a thought (*goes to test it*)

I hope we get iron hatches at some point. >.>
