This is a very small combination lock that I discovered. It can be built inside a 3 thick wall and the wall will be able to be solid all the way around, there will be no components outside the wall (excluding buttons and levers for combo) and the will be no breaks in the wall to fit it all. This uses 5 levers, but can easily be expanded to more, and a button. The levers must be in the right combination, and the button must be pressed for the output to enable, in the video the output is the door. The only issue I have with this is that is uses levers and the combo can be viewed from the outside when you are on the inside, but this is only a real problem if you are in SMP. I think I am going to begin work on one that will use buttons and have an ordered combination soon, but if you build one before me, tell me or post a video response. Thanks.
seems very similar to something i was showing somebody earlier, although i think mine was slightly more compact with getting the signal to the door (the input was the same, with the button/levers with torches and stuff)

Oh... I knew that there would be a way to get the signal to the door in a better way, but I didn't put too much thought into it....
By the way, how is everyone getting these flatmaps for testing? Are they using MCEdit or something? Or some prebaked, downloadable map?
I made this one myself using MCEdit and WorldEdit in SinglePlayerCommands. A user named Tyken132 made a bunch of them available for download (Click Here For Forum Topic). I'm not 100% sure but I think his maps are pregenerated 2048x2048 and the one I made is only 384x384 I think.
Unless this is on an adventure map or something like it, someone could just stick a redstone torch, button, etc. and open the door.
Otherwise very compact combo lock.
I'm going to up and assume you didnt take grief-protected servers into consideration.
Lot protection is very helpful IMHO
*hopes you consider the rest so i dont have to list all the reasons*

You are now reading this. You just lost the game.
You have just read this. You are also manually breathing.

If you have grief protection you wouldn't need a combo lock :biggrin.gif:. Otherwise you got me there.
Wow... just, wow. Did you originally come up with this design or did you take someone else's and alter it a bit?
I believe I originally came up with this design, I haven't seen anything similar to it, although somebody probably thought of something similar before, and they may have just never released it. Thanks.

Yea- That is one of the primary uses for a lock like this, although is uses levers and if you are on the inside, or forget to reset them all, others will be able to see your combo. That's why I am going to make a compact button lock. Thanks.
that could easily be solved by just rotating the door and inverting the input the lock sends
Yea-I planned on doing that, but I figured most people would not understand what I was doing when I recorded the video and I would get a lot of comments saying that it doesn't open the door and that stuff. A lot of people would do the flipping of the door if they knew that trick, I used it in my video where I made a bank system, so you can lock the bank door without others able to get in. Thanks.
Thanks for all the comments and feedback everyone-I really appreciate it.
Thanks!

Thanks - I am planning on making one that will use buttons so you might want to wait on the build ;]

Please tell me I'm not the only one who sees what's funny here.
[and I get to laugh at anyone who tried to click that picture because I cropped it too well]
Oh lol. That's awesome :]

-places tnt under the door-

-places torch on top-
Power comes in from the bottom. So tnt on the bottom wouldn't work. Tnt on the top however..
-places torch on floor-
If you have grief protection you wouldn't need a combo lock :biggrin.gif:. Otherwise you got me there.
I know right.
Also just place tnt in multiple places, there's surely a way to guarantee igniting it if you try to bypass the lock..

Yea-It could be used in an adventure map, SMP with grief protection, or you can invert the door to it is open when there is no power applied. Thanks.

Well its kinda cool to have a combo lock over just using the default protection. And people would think its awesome too. Thanks.
Yea. I'm not too sure if there is any spots that you can place TNT, unless you put it right about the buttons/levers or something.
