Don't build your house against a ground floor wall, then.

Zombie pigmen will organize into well-coordinated search and destroy teams with weapons open, and creepers will develop the ability to determine certain eigenvalues of the voxel-based matrix that is the minecraft world.
Two blocks wide walls (or just make a house surrounded by fences) and glass or half blocks floors should (and by "should" I mean I never tried it) make it really safe. Do not forget to add enough torches anyways.

Me: I wonder where are all the diamonds in my minecraft save.
Friend: Probably right where you didn't dig.
The way it works is: if there is ANY hostile mob that has ANY path to you and you try to sleep, the mob is teleported to you and you wake up. It dosn't matter how improbable or hard it is, they will get to you. so...
Only put pressure plates on 1 side of your exterior doors (inside).
Make shure you are 100% surrounded by solid blocks.
Make shure mobs can not spawn anywhere past your defences, 1 torch every 5 blocks should do.
Lastly, hide yo kids and hide yo wife, cuz dem creepers gunna find you! (Sorry, I had to!)

I just want to lure children into my cave with promises of candy so I can enslave them and put them to work in my underground mushroom farm.
Wood half-blocks don't burn, either (and because they're just damaged half-blocks they have the same mine time and TNT resistance of old halfblocks), so that bedroom might even be Ghast-proof! O.o
Since mobs don't spawn on half blocks, I suppose this would work, not sure though since the mobs spawning is actualy a bug. Let me know if you figure it out please :smile.gif:
Has notch confirmed that it's a bug? I like the idea that you can't use the bed every night without the risk of being attacked.

Expodental... that's a new one. Reminds me of the time I saw someone write "triumelephantly" instead of "triumphantly".
This has never been a problem for me,never. unless creepers found out how to open doors using ther han--i mean, telekenises. or they firmley grassped the concept of redstone. the only bet prob for me is that i put my beds against a wall in my house or window and after waking i find out im outside my wall looking into my house admiring the wallpaper alongside mr. mcsplodey.

Well, Obviously we have a CREE-PER in linken park, and hes in your house blowin your chests up, so hide yo picks, hide yo diamonds, and hide yo stone too cuz hes blowin everyone up in here.
If you have a wall that's 1 block thick, with a bed on one side, if a hostile mob is on the other side of that wall from your bed, you will be woken up.
Now that being said. Ponies.
