a} An implementation of , which is within the castle grounds, past the storeroom.
b} An implementation of my own one chunk branch mine, which is the main thing I want to talk about. The vertical access point from this is not far from the front gates of the castle. It occupies minimal space on the surface, however, so don't worry about it ruining the skyline. :wink.gif:
This is the main thing I want to talk about. Although the initial phase of the mine's excavation is described above, within this map, I implemented a new plan for what to do with dug out (and therefore derelict) floors in the mine. The idea I came up with was to convert them into 140 node wheat farms. The central passage is maintained, and each branch is converted into a 3x7 passage, with a row of wheat on each side.
With a floor every three levels, starting at level 12, this means that each shaft will have 18 floors, for a total of 2,520 wheat. I didn't have time to implement all 18 floors; one took me three hours, as well as mining out the first two floors. At 28 wheat per 9x9
The first floor contains the wheat farm. I don't run water behind every dirt block, but rather place three water blocks per 7 block wheat row, to balance redundancy and minimal hydration time, without running water behind every block. Credit for the initial inspiration for this farm goes to . At 28 wheat per 9x9 space, it has close to half the space efficiency of Hans Lemurson's design, but it has the advantage of modularity and slightly easier initial setup. It's entirely possible to only add one or two seven node rows, and if a person was going to excavate multiple chunks, they could keep adding new rows per chunk.
Although I will admit to using Single Player Commands to give me the necessary materials to build the farm, all of the ore added to the store room chests (including 9 diamonds and 22 obsidian) was obtained legitimately; although I did use instantmine to more rapidly harvest the obsidian. :wink.gif:
I hope my limited item hacking is not viewed with disapproval, but given the scale of the task, I was unable to legitimately amass the needed materials within a four hour timeframe.
we already have a wheat farm, that produces more then enough, that I think was done legit, like 70% of this build is, well probably less now, because I doubt that lava moat was legit, and all of those diamonds sitting in the chests, and one of each wool...
I would request, for the sake of other people, that the first post in this thread be updated to include a rule forbidding item hacking, via the use of single player commands or whatever else, if people do not want that in this map. There was no prohibition explicitly given, and I had played other pass it on maps where that was allowed, so I was not entirely sure whether or not it was not wanted here.

I can destroy a mountain with a feather. What's so wrong about that?
Can you find my secret area? There are now 2 pink wool's in this chest!
I changed the building in the back, now you can walk all the way around it without falling into the farm, and I changed the pitfall thing, so you can only do it at the top or the bottom, not in the middle
I did some exploring, looking for a good place for a secret area and I found a HUGE network of caverns right beneath the castle, including a large underground lake. Also about 8 diamonds, a skelleton spawner and a surface zombie spawner.
I gotta plan this ahead because its probably gonna take me the whole 4 hours to make, so Ill wait till the next person finishes before taking the save.
