(bottom right actually goes to a door but I didn't have it connected for this picture.)
When the power is sent in from the left side the torch that is on goes off and the red stone gets to the end of the repeaters and doesn't do anything. The torch doesn't relight either. What the heck is messing this up?
shouldn't it have an output somewhere? or is it just for looks...?
Lower left corner
I thought that was the input.

As soon as you find diamond.
You run.
You run fast.
You run not caring what else is back there.
You run because creepers know you found diamond.
You run because lava knows you found diamond.
Run.
Botton left comes from a button, the bottom right goes to a door but in the picture the bottom right isn't connected because I was messing around with it.
I built it right off the template from the wiki and I just built one on the same server yesterday so I don't know what could be up. When the input is triggered the torch in the middle goes off. The power makes its way through the repeaters but once it reaches the cobble stone at the end of the repeaters it does nothing.
why do you need a monostable circuit if your using a button?
To keep the door longer open.
It will be open until the delay line resets the RS-NOR.
I use it a lot since my doors are usually further away from the button.

According to the picture, it should work. The only solution I can think is what many people already wrote, destroy the torches and replace them. You could also destroy the blocks and replace them since sometimes even that is needed to reset the torches.
EDIT:
Look under the block of the turned off torch. It could be that there is a burning torch under it that prevents it from turning on.
Yeah, I know it's stupid, but **** can always happen, especially if you try your best to prevent it.

I had this problem with a T Flip-Flop built straight off the wiki, those diagrams were made in another program called Restone Simulator or something and they just don't always work in Minecraft.
Read the discussion page on the minecraftwiki redstone page, other people will have had the same problem and found a solution.
That's what happened for me with the T Flip-Flop, the edge trigger was too fast but I didn't know why the hell it wouldn't work. Someone posted how to fix it and it works like a charm now :happy.gif:
oh, i think i know why, you need more repeaters to delay it, as the button probably works longer than them, and so the memory is never changed (button overrides)
try adding more repeaters?
I tried replacing all the torches and blocks and there's no other redstone around this. I know the circuit shoudl work because I built the same one the day before on the same server. I also tried adding 2 more repeaters at the maximum setting but that still hasn't changed anything?
If one of the torches is burning out or just not lighting up, then the reason your monostable circuit isn't working is because of the redstone bug introduced in 1.5
Twitter Notch and ask him to fix it like I have because its not even on the wiki's list of bugs and I'm not sure that he's even aware of it.
I actually use like 14 repeaters but in the picture I simplified it so you guys could see it either. I have a button thats really far away from a door so I'm using this circuit to keep the door open for a few seconds while I make my way towards it.
Oh? What's the bug? I'll ask him.
I have another circuit that works perfectly fine thats identical though?

wait is the problem with this actual circuit or a different circuit and this is just a copy of it?
Its this circuit with just more repeaters tacked on. Even when I do shorten down to exactly like in the picture I posted, the problem is still there so it's not the repeaters.
The delay track is attached to the wrong block, I believe.
EDIT: Actually, the input is supposed to be directly connected to the wire in the latch, not the block.
EDIT: No, it seems fine. Try attaching the input and the Repeater track to the wires directly, instead of just the blocks.

Is there anything else that could be preventing it from working?
Input is lower left corner (a button)
I thought that was the input.
i see no possible way that that could be an output
so, where's the output? :biggrin.gif:
and what does it do/trigger?

No logical explanation?

edit: actually, they look different then mine. could be a different texture pack or something, but I think they're still backward
To OP: You built the large version of the circuit. Would the compact one work for you? I use it in my roundabout, as you can see in this post:

Don't bother with the vertical version. It doesn't work.
