Was looking for how most people make there water fountains. I know most minecrafters make fountains in the middle of their towns/castles/whatever so I was wondering what your generally preferred type was. Pics are nice Mod Edit: Oh wait this isnt spam... and, oh no Herobrine referenced either... Wait but... I...

I usually have mine a diameter of about 5 blocks, or more, depends, about 2 blocks deep in water where the fountain is, with the bottom being cobble, and the outside edges or anything else any material you choose. I build a small 1x1 tower, and usually put one source block on top, and break the tower. Sorry if this is vague xD. And I don't have pics, but this is the way I've always done mine or seen others.
I also have an idea I've wanted to try with a wooden fountain and a fence post with the source block on top, I think that'd look nice.

Fake mod edits should be a warn-able offence...really, its getting out of hand.

Here are the first two I've ever built. Followed no plans (though I had seen pics of other fountains), and all legit. Building them as centerpieces for the first two underwater domes. The second one used to be a lava fountain, but I switched it to water after accidentally killing myself twice. Also, I decided not to go with the glowstone center, because it isn't nearly as bright as I thought it would be, because it's damn hard to get that much, because I had just used almost all my stock lighting a tunnel which didn't turn out as well as planned, and because the ability to see through the fountain to the other side of the dome is cool. I instead used a lava floor, which is nice, and mirrors some work in my first world. I decided to keep the glowstone in the first one though, even though I'd like to see through it, for 2 reasons: I wouldn't even get 2 blocks back, and it's a major show of extravagance, possibly the biggest in my current world (although my 3m³ gold block might rival it...). Even though it doesn't do what I intended, how could I destroy something like that? Also the bottom 4 blocks help light the large room below.

Everything I build is 100% legit. No mods, no tools, nothing but time and effort.
I don't have any pictures on me because I lost my world with it but I always liked to make tiered fountains. Multiple levels of stone with water flowing down from the very top. It doesn't work well in smaller spaces though...

I've always been a fan of underwater structures. Nice work.
I've always been a fan of moderators who actually post and don't just smash faces with hammers.

I do this I also use mossy cobblestone. I also have made a corner one that follows a similar format.
Thanks Sacheverell. That's amazing Hatchet18 (can't wait till I get started on my pyramid :smile.gif:). I'm not sure how fountain-like this is... but from my first world I have a waterfall, leading to two separate waterfalls, lit pond and river leading all the way to the ocean. Not technically a fountain, but still waterworks, and might inspire you to do something of your own design.
That was shortly before the world was lost, but in between the pic and the time I lost it, I completed the lava beneath the whole pond, keeping it all lit at night. I discovered shortly after building it that it wasn't quite big enough to sail a boat though, but I loved it nonetheless, especially the forest section.

I like the fake mod edit. By the way, they never say "Edit", it's "edit".

Also it would point out below the person's post that it had been edited recently by a mod
Yeah that also :tongue.gif:

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
