I'm quitting the forums, and nobody will be here to run the FAQ/Guide anyway.
I've put quite a bit of work into it, but it's time for me to go, and maybe it's immaturity, maybe it's justified, but I'm taking my Guide/FAQ with me.
I've helped out so much around here, reporting hundreds, perhaps a thousand things to give the moderators heads up of what's going on.
The community has been progressing worse and worse every day for a while now, while the moderators are shorthanded, and the owners aren't hiring many new people to mod. The mods are incredibly behind, and responses feel like they take forever.
Yet, they still often find time to ban me for minor offenses like "We've seen 1000 of these threads, look around next time." Then the mods are quick to ban my friend for voicing an opinion at all.
They still think I'm a brat or something, and I haven't felt quite welcome here for a bit. Two particular moderators have been very kind to me though. But I think that's where it pretty much ends. Just those are nice.
While the community spirals more and more out of control, nothing happens, and I try to help out, but I've never felt my efforts meant much, and I'm not going to be a mod, so I can't personally deal with whatever's going on.
Not being a mod isn't my only reason for quitting, don't get me wrong---the community is horrible. Flaming left and right, herobrine threads everywhere, and people spamming everywhere, whether it's mindless or just twitter tales.
I used to rage and cuss everyone out, but now I just take breaks. Well, this time, it's forever. I'm sick of it here.
Great FAQ, but what about putting in the different grades of tool`s? (Wood-Diamond, how many uses they have and etc. you can find this info about uses and durability on tool`s in Minepedia, it`d still be a good addition to the FAQ though) You could also describe each type of block, (Wood, Stone, Redstone, Iron, Coal, Diamond) OH, and one last thing, you should put up a reference video. By that I mean X`s Adventures in MineCraft Episode 1 (WE SHALL GET IT TO 1 MILLION VIEWS!)

I have a question based on durability and materials being "better", but it doesn't have how long they last. I'll add how long they last.
As for describing some things,I think it's obvious. Others, maybe not.

And the video.. I don't understand?
1. Good then :biggrin.gif:
2. Maybe so
3. You`d understand if you happily used up 6-8 hours of your life watching the whole series, it`s also pretty much jam-packed with info on how to survive your first night.
You should also mention what material pick you need to mine all the ores/blocks.
Wood - coal, stone;
Gold - coal, stone
Stone - Iron, coal, stone;
Iron - Diamond, Redstone, Gold, Iron, coal, stone;
Diamond - Obsidian, Diamond, Redstone, Gold, Iron, coal, stone.
I also agree with this getting a sticky, just add in some more info like suggested above and make it just a little bit more organized and this would be an invaluable tool for a new player.
"Why do monsters light on fire?
Monsters light on fire when the sun is rising, as they can only spawn and survive in the dark."
Perhaps here would be a good place to explain that only zombies and skellies burn in sunlight, while spiders become docile. Creepers are always deadly.
Also, maybe you should explain about slime somewhere in this FAQ. Sure, they're rare, but people do come across them once in a millennia.
Also, this needs reordering a bit. The 'what is a saddle?' should be down with the records etc, for a start, and the most immediate and basic questions, such as the order of materials, nearer the top.
Okay, I added all of that. And I tried fixing the ordering, but I'm not quite sure if it's fine. If you think it needs more adjusting, please let me know.
I need help with a question i have, i started a thread but nobody's replying! I saw a person in my single player file. is this a type of monster or a new npc or something?

There are no people in the game other than real life players. And it's single-player, so nobody else is on.

Inb4 claiming they're not mine.
..It's Minepedia... I'm using MC bandwith MC forums. I don't see a problem.
EDIT: OH **** LOL lemme try fixing...
EDIT2: Thanks for letting me know. Cache screws with us sometimes. XD
I ****ing LOVE that "stop stealing out bandwidth" parody of Evony. XD
Thanks. If you or anyone else has have any questions you don't know or think newbies might not know, please ask! :biggrin.gif:

other then that it looks pretty good. I'm trying to think of other things it may need.
Help is greatly appreciated.
