I think OP is crying in the corner, so I'm just going to join the bandwagon:
You're a wuss lol. They're just cave sounds, not like anything's gonna happen to you :tongue.gif:

The bandwagon consist of you and another person… not much of a bandwagon if you ask me…
Personally, I like getting spooked out by games. I loved playing games like Thief, F.E.A.R., Amnesia, etc, in a dark room with the surround-sound speakers full blast.
I say Notch should drop ambient sounds, or 'cave noises'
Think of all the younger players, Notch. I'm 15 myself, and those STILL make me **** my pants.
I mean, and can play Deadspace and laugh, and those noises just make me go
I mean, as if the spiders, zombies, and skeletons crawling up my ass weren't enough.

Um... no.
I am 14 and I never did really found this game scary at all... However, I think a better word would be STARTLING. Then that should descrive it all a bit better. And even then, it was rare. But This all isint to say that I personally LOVE the atmosfere of Minecraft, especially in the beggining.
Then again I am the same guy who thinks than Resident Evil and Silenth hill are quite hilarious (especially the former), and I found Amnessia to be meh at best (Thats not saying that it was a bad game. It was decent).
I love when a game can scare you, thougt. It adds to the experience. Minecraft is probably the "Scariest" Game I have ever played, but thats not saying much...

I'm with you they scare the living crap out of me too.
Although i'm getting used to them now.I mean i'v been playing this before Alpha.
[EDIT]
Some of the cave noises are not even real, some anyways but still scary.
Yeah, the music in caves scarps me out (makes me **** pants)
Whats that music? I never really did listen to it because of Minecraft´s fail sistem to play music (Gap of 5 mins or more between music? FAIL) (Also, with the exception of Cat and 13. And 13 is boring, while Cat is quite good actually), So I did listen to my own music since pretty much the very beggining. So yeah. Can you post a vid of it?
Hate to say it but, you are a wuss if you find anything in mine craft scary. Note that i said scary, there are things that startle even me, ambient cave noises not being one of them... Ever been to the nether with your sound on and not on peaceful? you should try that!
my first experience with ambient noises:
-noise occurs near a dark pit-
"Well that was creepy. Good thing ambient noises don't actually mean anything other than, hey, it's dark down here!"
I honestly don't get why people wig out over 'em
Bah, this game would be far less scary if the spiders turned to butterflies, and if the creepers turned to cacty, if the creepy sounds turned into Fur Elise.
Saying you can go through dead space easy dosnt say much, dead space is just "Jump" scares. Minecraft has atmospheric scary. The difference is that atmospheric scary works well when an attack can be at any time. Jump scares just work once. So I think it should stay as it is, to be honest im scared of the sounds too, but Its very atmospheric and does its job well.

Yes, but is it more scary than the retarded MINECRAFT noises?
*is in a cave* *hears the one .ogg that sounds like a breath*
*Runs as fast as possible out of the cave*
Actually, I disagree. Minecraft has its scary moments. I would say all of those are action games, not horror.
