I have to say no. If you had accidentally planted some TNT and exploded the side of your dome, then yes, but this is a problem with the game cutting out on you. I personally loathe lost progress, especially if the reason isn't a mistake on my part. Go ahead and fix your dome however you want.
I had a game that i was a bit into, about 20 diamond, tons of iron, chests of dirt, wood, cobble, etc...
Lost the game, had the seed. I gave myself back probably half of what I had, and a few diamond tools to re-carve out my base. I didn't consider that cheating, but I did it because of how much I lost.
Your choice, but if you do it, delete the mod after :smile.gif:
I have only once used INVedit. It was in a similar circumstance. I was building a floating island of netherrack, and went to the nether with a ton of picks and mined to ceiling bedrock and just MINED in one direction until I had a full inventory, I had around 2000 netherrack. I went back to my portal, went through, and Minecraft crashed as it loaded. When I reloaded, I was back at my spawn point with a completely empty inventory . . . I went back to the portal, and all the mining had still occured, consuming my picks and torches and stuff, but everything I came back with was gone.
I downloaded INVEDIT, gave myself 1500 netherrack (I kept it low so I didn't accidentally favor myself), and one diamond sword with 1/4th durability (mine had been around 1/3rd). Everything else I lost, I took a hit for, so I didn't feel cheat guilt.
I deleted INVEDIT and pretended the whole affair didn't occur. If Minecraft won't tell on me, I won't tell on it, and we are even.
I just used my other glass, which was almost of it (still early in the game)
but i used fly to make the thing underwater, i couldnt stand the currents now, and doing it again would have been too frustrating
I consider my main world Legit, but whenever my game crashes I use SPC to give myself a ton of items, then I rebuild whatever I lost, and throw the leftover items into lava. I also use fly to rebuild, because I've already spent all my time building whatever glitched out because of the crash.
If the game crashes and you lose stuff, I don't think it's cheating if you use hacks to get back to exactly where you were before the crash.
Om nom... Nom, nom.
