I'm trying to do something with TNT that requires almost infinitly precise redstone timing. It looks like this from the side:
[] [] [] [] []
[] [] [] [] []
76 layers of the cobblestone/air pockets. from a top view the cobble looks like:
[] [] []
[] [] []
[] []
Now since I have this going straight up in a town, I need to route redstone wiring from a switch/trigger all the way through all these layers, to hit the TNT at the same exact time. However, when I route it like this:
[]
[]
[]
Which each of the cobbles having a redstone torch, it will light the redstone up but it won't light it ALL up at the SAME TIME. It will only do half, and then when I walk off the pressure pad or flip the switch again, the next half or so will be lit up.
Is this a glitch with SMP? I can't figure out how to get all 75 layers of redstone to be lit up at the same time. How exactly would I go about this? It's a freebuild server, so items won't be a problem.
It is exactly 76 layers big. I want to route redstone going to each layer all around on the faces of exposed cobblestone, all instantly triggered from a stone button or pressure pad. Get it now?
completely ignoring the actual fact that cannons do not work on SMP at this time...
when you supply power to the block that a redstone torch is connected to, the redstone torch will turn off. this is basic redstone mechanics, and the fact that you deny it means you are either trolling (quite poorly), or are mentally incapacitated
attempted edit #2: the redstone singletick quirk you are using, is working normally (going by your description)

/facepalm - Is anyone here smarter than a 3rd grader? Or maybe knows how to spell in problem English? I'm not making a cannon, I was using it as an example for the redstone circuit I need. I have seen multi-level cannons detonated from distance without any lag, and that's why I want but without the "Cannon", I just want the circuit.

it's simply not possible, when a redstone torch powers another redstone torch, the other redstone torch becomes inverted (it's how redstone works) You can only power half at one time... use half of the torches to power whatever needs to be powered...
What is working normally? I haven't given a quirk that I know how to use, or I wouldn't need this thread.. /facepalm How about instead of being a bunch of kids, you back your claims up? How can I redstone all of those layers?
My god, it's amazing how immature kids can ruin such a great game. If you're going to be a ****, don't reply. If you're going to post on-topic and be helpful, you're welcome. But serioursly, grow up.
Here's another video which is what I want to do btw:
I think the problem is a misunderstanding on your part. The redstone torches used in the videos are as part of repeaters. Redstone only carries a charge over 15 spaces unless repeated. Notice, especially in the second video, that they're not using a bunch of redstone torches. Redstone torches provide power to themselves unless power is provided to them. They're what's causing the half on/half off issue. You need to be triggering the TNT with wiring coming from torches in the same state if you want them to trigger at the same time.
I would suggest setting up the repeaters however you're going to use them, then turn the switch to your off setting. Now if you extend your wiring from the torches which are off, your TNT should all trigger at one time.
I would personally run a stairstep series of repeaters and wiring in a spiral down a few blocks to the side of the actual "tower", and then run wires from each "off" torch to the spaces between rings. The rings are small enough that the wiring should reach completely with no repeaters in-line. You'd still only have half the torches light at one time, but the half that are lighting are the only ones attached to the TNT, while the ones which would switch to off aren't triggering anything but the other torches.

Actually, that likely won't work either. I just realized as I was reading back over it that each time you use a repeater it adds a slight delay. With such a big tower, using so many torches is going to cause the "end" TNT to trigger quite a ways after the first. This could be made a bit better by having the switch near the middle (or connect to a place in the middle) and then work to both ends, but there would still be a slight delay. I'm not sure if that's possible for your design though.
Well how about a diferent question then, is there a way to have all blocks with the id 46 be detonated via command or *cheat* such as changing the value via Cheat Engine? I've searched and can't find it, but I'm guessing there has to be some way to do it.
In single player you could use the single player commands addon to ignite all TNT on the map. However I don't believe there is an op/admin command for that in online play, and due to how multiplayer works with the client and server interacting, anything you do on the client gets verified by the server before it's done, so it's much harder to make such modifications.

singletick quirk = no delay (in a vertical direction of any height)

I can easily switch this to SP, I only have it on MP because it was easier for me to get the items. I have the singleplayercommands mod, is that the one I would need to use?
